Smartphone Smackdown: Motorola Droid X vs HTC Evo
Droid X vs HTC Evo
The Motorola Droid X and the HTC Evo are two of the newest and most advanced smart phones on the market and are 2 of the best Android phones. Both touch phones are stacked with ridiculous specs and have their own advatages. Here you will find out which phone is the king of the Android smart phones.
Droid vs Evo: Looks
First impressions of the Motorola Droid X and the HTC Evo
While I thing that both touch phones look really slick, I will give a slight edge to the Motorola Droid X here. This is mainly because I don't really like the way the 4 buttons at the bottom of the HTC's screen look like(although they are quite functional). The Droid also has 4 buttons at the bottom but, to me, they look much slicker than the Evo's. Other than that, both phones have a very good design. It is functional, simple, and clean, all of which I like. The plastic is smooth, polished and does not feel cheap

- Connectivity: The HTC Evo has 4G capabilities while the Droid X has 3G capabilities, which means that the Evo has a little faster at browsing the web. Both phones have Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity and USB.
- Hardware: The HTC comes with an 8MP camera and a 1.3MP camera in the front. It has a 1GB of storage memory + up to 8GB on microSD card, and 512MB of random access memory. It has a 4.3'' 480x800 display and a battery which allows for around 360 minutes of talk time. The HTC also has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The Droid X has one 8 MP camera, up to 8 GB of memory on board + up to 32 GB on MicroSD, 4.3'' 480x854 display, and a battery which allows for about 480 minutes of talk time. The Motorola has a OMAP 3630 1GHz processor which is faster than the Evo's
- Software: Both, the HTC Evo and the Droid X runs on Android 2.1 which lets them support multitasking and gives them access to the growing Android market. While the Apple's iOS has been around longer and isconsidered more polished, the Android has the potential to soon over take it so both the HTC Evo and the Motorola Droid X should get even more useful as the amount of apps for Android grows.

- I own the EVO and have looked at the X ... You say that the X is slimmer based on dimensions but that bump for the camera has got to be wider than that, and it would make it less pocket friendly for me ... my own opinion is that the EVO is much smoother looking overall and with the retractable kick stand (not mentioned here) it wins in the looks department.

- I dindn't mention the retractible kick stand 'cause I wasn't sure how to call it, but I did include that in the photos. The dimensions were not an opinion, they are the actual dimensions given on the phone's respective websites(which reminds me that I should include that reference in my next update). As for looks, well as they say "different strokes for different folks." As I said in the Looks section, both phones looked good but I just dind't really like the 4 round buttons on the Evo. That being said, I'm glad that you took the time to read my lens and appreciate your feedback!
