Tips for home Tinters

Somebody swapped the tint!!.....See BelowNowadays lots of people are confident to apply tint to thier own hair. There are many home use products on the market which offer simple application, are much lower in price and are more convenient than a salon visit so there's no wonder why people choose this method.

For a first application on hair with no previous tint these can be a great option. But unless you ladies have a nimble fingered partner (No Comment!) to apply the tint to the root re-growth area only, you may find a home tint kit can lead to unwanted results especially if each time you apply the product to your hair you spread it along the whole length.

Spreading the product along the whole length will normally cause issues, for example, for those of you who like the high lift ash blonde look a period of repeat home applications done in this way will innevitably damage your hair meaning more regular trims and conditioning treatments will be needed, are you really saving money? The overall dryness of the hair that this can cause leads to hair which is harder to manage and style to your liking without using expensive serums.

For those ladies who have a darker shade of hair and use similar shades to add tone or cover the odd white hairs, repeated use of home kits spread over the whole length of the hair can lead to your hair being darker and sometimes black at the tips which are overloaded with tint. Definately not unsightly but not the desired effect either.

As I mentioned earlier if you have a partner or friend who you can trust to apply the product directly to the root re-growth then you are lucky. A visit to the salon is usually the best option when it come's to choosing and applying colour to your re-growth There are many factors that need to be considered before the use of tint which are better assesed amongst professionals. Nobody wants that orange stripe along thier parting and colour correction is usually quite expensive.

I heard recently that somebody purchased a tint from a local supermarket and the wrong colour was in the box. Not as drastic as the picture above but definately worth checking the tint mix inside the box for the code!

Fun Time's While Training

Me & My Fashion show model. While I have been training at the Academy I have had plenty of Fun and sometimes frustrating times. The assesors organised a fashion show during the summer of 2009 on the Costa del Sol. Here is a picture of me with one of the kind ladies who agreed to model for me. All the models who volenteered were very happy to let us trainee's loose on thier hair and showed of the cool summer dresses available for sale by Age Concern in Calahonda. Although it was a long hot day, spirits were kept high with the odd glass of bubbly and a sausage roll or two. You can see by the picture it was very tiring for everyone invloved, this was just before the fourth pass for the models.

During the training process one of the most frustrating tasks was to tackle the dreaded perm rods, after spending a whole week trying to get so many rods wound into a training head in a certain amount of time and failing each go I decided to leave that task on the shelf for a while. Literally, Candice (One of my plastic head's) was on the head shelf whith half a perm wind for about 3 weeks until I decided to tackle it again. at which point i succeeded...yay. In the mean time I had alot of support from friends and folk in the area who have all visited several times for colours, foils, cuts, perms, hair up, you name it. Each encounter being a rise in the learning curve. Thankyou to everyone who came down for a trim etc, please feel welcome to post comments below.

I'm the lady in the photos that David is practising on. He did a great job and it looked fab. It was made extra difficult as my hair had to be washed beforehand and it's very fine and fly away normally. David did a great job though and I'll be back next time my hair needs to be up!

I have had my hair highlighted many times but David def did one of the best. He kept me informed of what he was doing, was gentle and it was a fun experience. His head massages are worth the price alone! I got many comments on how great my hair looked after my visit to David. I will def be going back.

I have had David highlight my hair many times he has also cut and upstyled my hair. I have always been very happy with what he has done and he will ask lots of questions so he can achieve exactly what I have wanted. He is well worth a visit

Hair Up Style's

Give me a call 0424432828 your patience while I practice these styles is rewarded with cups of tea or coffee and plenty of laughs and chat.

Finally Candice was fully wound up in 35 minutes

Brick Wind PermCandice (Training head) was very patient but we got there in the end, My first real perm i.e. on a human being was a huge success and the brave lady (Doreen) has booked in again for when she is back in Spain.
