Druid Water Form - For the Horde!

The Druid Aquatic Form Quest series (also known as the druid water form or druid sea lion form) has four parts: A Lesson to Learn, Trial of the Lake, Trial of the Sea Lion, and Aquatic Form.

This walk through is for the Horde. Use this link for the Alliance druid aquatic form quest walk through.

*** NOTE: Most quests will be much easier if you have a map Addon (allowed by Blizzard) that has map coordinates.

I will give you directions in case you do not have map addons, but this Druid Sea Lion Form quest walk through also includes the map coordinates in parenthesis like this: (x,y)

Visit this link for more information, including how to get free WoW Addons such as Map Notes. ***

Druids normally pick up this quest at about level 16, however, some put it off until they reach higher levels. If you put off doing this quest until you were a higher level and you are experiencing difficulties in obtaining the quest see the section at the end of this guide.

If you're interested in a guide that covers all things Druid - from creation, leveling, talents, and builds, through macros, raiding, and PvP strategies check out the Killer Guides WoW Druid Guide.

Quest 1 - A Lesson To Learn

Start - Turak Runetotem, Thunder Bluff Finish - Dendrite Starblaze, Moonglade

To start this four-quest series you need to talk to Turak Runetotem in the Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff. (76,28) and get the quest "A Lesson to Learn."

To complete the quest you must speak with Dendrite Starblaze in the village of Nighthaven, Moonglade.

You can teleport there using the Teleport Moonglade spell that is permanently in your spell book. (When you did the bear form quest you went to the same place.)

The Teleport Moonglade spell will place you right in front of the building in which you will find Dendrite Starblaze. Go inside and up to the second floor. (56, 30)

Dendrite Starblaze will give you the next quest: "Trial of the Lake."

**WARNING FOR PvP SERVERS** This quest is for all druids- Horde and Alliance- and Moonglade is contested territory for those of you who are on PvP servers, so watch out for those high level players who love to gank low level druids on this quest.

Quest 2 - The Trial of the Lake

Start - Dendrite Starblaze, Moonglade; Finish - Tajarri, Moonglade

The Trial of the Lake is a timed quest, so be certain you are ready to start it (read this first) and have time to complete it before you accept it. The quest objective is to find a Shrine Bauble in Lake Elune'ara and take it to the Shrine of Remulos in northwestern Moonglade. Once there, you use/activate the Shrine Bauble. Afterwards you have to speak with Tajarri, one of Moonglade's wardens, in order to complete the quest, and pick up the next quest.

Lake Elune'ara is located just south of the village of Nighthaven. If you use map coordinates, just swim with your head above water to (51,51) in the lake, and then dive down to the bottom of the lake. There you will find a source of air bubbles that will refill your breath meter so that you won't drown.

If you do not have map coordinates, try swimming to the middle of the lake to the spot on your map where the "e'a" appears in the name "Elune'ara" and dive down from there. You should be able to locate the source of the air bubbles to refill your breath meter.

From this point look around to locate the vase containing the Shrine Bauble. The location changes, but it should be close to the source of the air bubbles. Try searching at (55,46) or (55,47) and just east-north-east of the air bubbles.

You have to be close to the bottom of the lake to see the vase with a very faint red glow that contains the Shrine Bauble. Right click the vase to obtain the bauble. Check your inventory to be certain you have it there before you leave, then swim to the side of the lake closest to the Shrine of Remulos (35,41) and head straight there. If you do not have a map addon just look at your map; the Shrine of Remulos is there in the north-west. Remember, you are on a timer!

When you arrive at the Shrine of Remulos go all the way in to the big tree, open your inventory and right click the bauble. The ground will shake a bit. Now go to Tajarri (36,40) right next to the Shrine of Remulos (but outside of it) and talk to her. You finish this quest with Tajarri and then she will give you the next quest: Trial of the Sea Lion.

Quest 3 - Trial of the Sea Lion

Start - Tajarri in Moonglade; Finish - Dendrite Starblaze in Moonglade

This part of the Aquatic form quest series has very different locations to visit for Alliance and Horde, so make sure you are looking at the correct walk through. This walk through is for the Horde. Use this link for the Alliance druid aquatic form quest walk through.

Tajarri will give you this long quest to find the Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility and the Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance, join them together into the Pendant of the Sea Lion, and present it to Dendrite Starblaze in the village of Nighthaven, in Moonglade.

This quest really has three parts: 1) finding the Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility; 2) finding the Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance; 3) combining the two parts and returning to Dendrite Starblaze in Moonglade.

So, where are the two half pendants? Tajarri tells you to "speak with the residents of Moonglade to learn clues as to where these items may be located." Talk about vague! It's a good thing you have this guide to help you. :)

***BTW, it would be much easier to complete this quest if you have the assistance of a friend who would like to gain some extra XP, especially if you have just reached level 16 when you start the quest.***

So, where are these half pendants? The short answer is this:

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility is in a 'strange lock box' in the middle of the lake at the Sludge Fen in the Barrens. (56,8)

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance is in a 'strange lock box' on the floor of the Great Sea off the coast north of the Sepulcher. (29,29)

But of course, I'm going to give you more help than that!

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility

Going for a Dip at Sludge Fen in the Barrens

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility is the easier half to get. It's in the Sludge Fen which is in the Barrens west of Orgrimmar.

From The Crossroads travel northeast into the Barrens to The Sludge Fen. (56,8) On the way, you might have to deal with a few creatures, such as Sunscale Screechers around level 13-15.

The Sludge Fen is a large mucky pool with a large building/structure in the middle of it.

You'll notice a couple of those annoying Venture Co. fellows in the screenshot. There are many in the area. Take them on one at a time, and don't let them team up on you. They are not the only problem, though. After you enter the water be on the lookout for a level 19 slug. He moves around, so watch out.

The strange lock box is in the water near the building. Swim around and look for bubbles rising to the surface.

The box with the half pendant of Aquatic Agility is directly beneath the bubbles.

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance

A Picnic in Silverpine Forest and an Exhilirating Swim in the Great Sea

Your next stop is Silverpine Forest via the Undercity. Depending on where you have your Hearthstone set you can hearth out or just run back to Orgrimmar. (Register the Flight Path inside Orgrimmar, if you do not already have it.)

The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance is the more diffcult one to retrieve. You will want to take the Zeppelin (which is just outside of Orgrimmar) to get to the Undercity to find the second half of the pendant.

In the Zeppelin Tower take the Zeppelin that goes to Tirisfal Glades. (On the platform if you face the open area, rather than the hills, it should be the correct zeppelin, but ask one of the goblins to be sure.) This zeppelin will take you to just outside the Undercity.

When you arrive go to the base of the zeppelin tower and take the road west to Silverpine. Follow the road as it turns south, and continue through Silverpine Forest. At (51,36) turn to the right (west) and go to Sepulcher. Register the Flight Path here.

NOTE: Do not set your coordinates yet or you will end up in the wrong place. Wait until you get to the beach.

Now you need to make your way to the beach and the Great Sea before you set your coordinates or way point for the second half pendant. There are lots of mobs in the forest between you and your goal. There is a shortcut you can take from Sepulcher that leads to the beach and the Great Sea, or you can back track out to the road and take a route that may avoid at least some of the mobs.

To take the shortcut from Sepulcher head to (44,38) through the graveyard and to the left of the small building, and follow the path between the mountains; you will jump down into the forest. You cannot climb back up this way, so make sure you are ready to go before you jump down. See the photo; the guard is standing where you want to go. There will be a camp of Moonrage Gluttons around the corner just to your left after you enter the forest, so look out for them. Work your way to the coast to North Tide's Run at about (32,15.)

For those who wish to avoid some of the mobs, take the road back out of Sepulcher and return to the main road through Silverpine Forest. Go back to the north until you reach (56,13) and take the path towards the northern-most farm, Ivar Patch. Travel past the farm building on the north (right) side and head west towards the coast. Hug the mountains. There are multiple level 11 to 13 mobs fairly close together. You will enter the Skittering Dark. There are many level 13 Moss Stalkers here. Continue until you reach the coast and North Tide's Run at about (32,15.)

Travel a little north and you will see a shipwreck on the beach. (37,28)

When you arrive at the beach you can set a way point for coordinates (39,38) on the Great Sea map.

Swim out to (39,38) and directly below you will be a bubbly fissure and the strange lockbox with the second half of the pendant. Grab a breath from the bubbly fissure, if you need it, and right click the box to get the pendant.

If you are interested in fishing, before you leave you should visit fisherman Killian Sanatha on the beach. There is frequently a school of fish or a floating wreckage pool nearby him that results in good fishing.

The most efficient thing to do now is to to use your Teleport to Moonglade spell. (If you had a friend along for help he can hearth away.)

Join the Two Halves to Form the Pendant of the Sea Lion

Return to the Shrine of Remulos

Now that you have the Half Pendant of Aquatic Agility and the Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance it is time to join them together to form the Pendant of the Sea Lion.

Use your Teleport to Moonglade spell. When you arrive in Moonglade run over to the Shrine of Remulos again. (Remember, it's at (35,41) just outside of Nighthaven. On your map the Shrine of Remulos is in the north-west.)

Go inside the Shrine of Remulos, and open your inventory. To form the Pendant of the Sea Lion right click either one of the two halves of the pendant in your inventory. You must be inside the shrine when you do this.

Now bring the joined pendant to Dendrite Starblaze (the easiest way is to use your Teleport Moonglade spell again) in Nighthaven village, Moonglade. (56,30)

Quest 4 - Aquatic Form

You've reached your goal!

OK, this is the easy part!

When you bring the Pendant of the Sea Lion to Dendrite Starblaze he will reward you with the Aquarius Belt (Binds on pickup, Leather, 40 Armor, +2 Stamina, +2 Intellect.) You have also earned 1,150 Experience Points!

Dendrite Starblaze will then instruct you to return to your trainer and show him the Pendant of the Sea Lion.

As a Horde Druid you should return to Turak Runetotem in the Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff. (76,28) Turak Runetotem will give you the training that will enable you to use the Sea Lion form.

Congratulations!
You now have the very useful Druid Aquatic (Sea Lion) form!

Having Trouble Getting the Aquatic Form at Higher Level?

Don't give up; you can still get this form!

For those of you who left this quest until higher level, or abandoned it part way through here is how to do it.

Essentially, if you have not even started the quest before you can do so by visiting Turak Runetotem on the Elder Rise in Thunder Bluff (76,28.)

If your level is too high, you will not see a golden ! but you can still get the quest. There is no level limit.

If you click on the trainer you will see the starting quest listed. If you do not see it, you must have already done it. In that case read on.

If you started this quest quite some time ago and abandoned it part way through you will need to pick it up at the point just before you abandoned it.
Where you go and who you talk to all depends on when you dropped it.

If you previously visited Dendrite Starblaze (56,30) in Moonglade and signed up for the Trial of the Lake, but then dropped the quest before you finished it, you will have to visit Dendrite Starblaze again and obtain the quest a second time.

If you completed the Shrine Bauble in the lake quest (Trial of the Lake,) and then started looking for the pendants (Trial of the Sea Lion,) but dropped the quest, you will have to go see Tajarri (36,40) near the Shrine of Remulos to get the quest again and start it over.

If, by chance, you have the two pendant halves in your inventory (or in a bank vault) then you need to join them together while inside the Shrine of Remulos, and take them to Dendrite Starblaze to get the Aquatic Form quest.
If you are unable to join the halves, maybe you need to get the Trial of the Sea Lion quest from Tajarri again and then see if it works.

Just visit these quest givers and click on them even if you do not see a golden exclamation point. You can still obtain the quest from them if you have not completed it yet.
