Dry Cat Food

How many dry cat food brands do you go through when feeding your cat? Do you stick to one brand or change according to your cat's likes and dislikes. This lens will provide you with some information on some of the dry cat food brands available today. My one cat Sandy eats 'indoor food' but she also loves to munch on the mice. Great mouse hunter Sandy!

Now some will tell you that you should not feed the food to your cat if the first ingredient is not meat. However, even if the first ingredient is not meat, most cats will do just find on that brand of food. Over the years, I have switched dry cat food brands so many times, I can't count them. I changed them when I moved to a location that did not have the brand I used, I changed when one was finicky, I changed to help with hairballs - and in all those changes the cats survived and thrived. My oldest lived to 17years and 3 months!

It is all about personal preference and what your cat likes.

Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula

Dry Cat Food Brands

Purina Cat Chow Indoor Formula is amongst the bigger names of the dry cat food brands. It contains a natural fibre which aids in the control of hairballs. Most of us have probably seen those and they are not pleasant for the cat to cough up. This food helps keep a healthy weight on your cat which is extremely important to their longevity.

This would be considered a lower budget item but most of the cats that eat this will do just fine. If having meat as the first ingredient is important to you, then this is not for you.

It also contains omega fatty acids which aid the skin and coat to stay healthy. Also contains brown rice - but that does not mean you should eat it too!

This product also helps control hair balls. And I am sure most of us have heard those being hacked up.

Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Dry Cat Food for Adult Cat, Chicken Flavor

Dry Cat Food Brands

Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul Dry Cat Food for Adult Cat, Chicken Flavor is another of the dry cat food brands that contains meat as its main ingredient. In fact, this one lists chicken and then salmon as it's first two ingredients.

I always heard of the chicken soup books for humans but I never knew cats had their chicken soup dry cat food too!

The company states that this dry food also helps to clean the cat's teeth and reduce plaque. That is a good thing for our feline friends and becomes even more important as they age.

As always, there are good reviews and bad reviews. They seem to be mainly on the good side though. One must try something themselves. If we stopped purchasing every item that had a complaint, there would be nothing left to purchase.

Thanks for posting this lens. We have two cats with two different needs. One cat is a senior and the other has a sensitive stomach. I want to try out the Blue Buffalo brand. And I also recommend Taste of the Wild wet cat food per our cat, Ralph. He loves it!

Our cat only eats two specific brands of cat food, he is a very spoiled cat.
