Angela Drysdale - An Artist's Journey
Having lived and travelled in many different African countries, I was induced to open a door to the continent by way of my art. The journey took me on an amazing safari across desert, through jungle and over open savannah, where I captured my passion for people, landscape and wildlife in my work.
When I moved to Bagan in Myanmar (Burma) I was inspired by a contrasting culture and discovered that in the land of golden temples ordinary but courageous citizens were willing to share the laughter in their lives, despite the adversity they are forced to face.
Now, back here in Europe, I continue to support conservation projects in the countries I once lived by portraying my memories on canvas and paper.

"The call of Africa is powerful, a place of contrasts, often stark, then gentle and serene: forbidding terrain bounded by empty spaces so great only the horizon sees an end, where a deep tranquillity will instil wonder in the artist's mind." Monty Brown Artists for Conservation
