    When I was a kid I grew up next to a building where someone had spray painted "Skydog" and I never knew what that meant. R.I.P. Duane.

    Duane Allman in my opinion was the greatest guitarist of all time. Take the session on Layla, Duane created all the rifts for the song and took them to the sky. Eric Clapton has said that Duane did all the rifts. If you want to hear great guitar playing, check out "Key To The Highway", man does Duane do some licks on that song. You can even hear Eric Clapton shouting in the background when Duane takes it to the edge of the envelope and plays like no other. I will always remember this man as the greatest guitar player in the world, BAR NONE.

    enjoyed your lens! I've been an Allman Brothers fan for over 30 years. Gregg Allman is releasing a new album in January-really looking forward to it!

    I SA THE ALLMAN BROTHERS WITH DUANE ON MARCH 30 TH - APRIL 1 ST 1970 AT WINTERS END FESTIVAL IN WINTER PARK FLORIDA . I WAS EVEN INTERVEIWED BY THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER. THIS DATE IS HOWEVER NOT LISTED ON THE ALLMAN BROS. WEBSITE. ONE OF US IS WRONG AND I DON'T THINK A YANKEE IN 1970 COULD HAVE IMAGENED DUANE ALLMAN. HE WAS LIKE CRACK COCAINE. I WAS HOOKED ON HIS 1 ST SOLO.

    Thanks for the lens. I can't think of anyone who played with more soul than Duane Allman. It's good to make folks more aware of great music. Most of my guitar students have never heard of him!
