When thinking about a luxury holiday in the deserts of the United Arab Emirates, the first thing that come to our minds is certainly not snow. But, in Dubai you can never be sure, the impossible becomes possible in Ski Dubai , the largest indoor ski resort in the whole world. Ski Dubai is part of the Mall of the Emirates. It is the largest shopping mall on the globe. Their main attraction is the indoor ski resort in the middle of the Saudi Desert. Ski Dubai covers more than 20,000 square meters  and  it is covered with real snow all year long. The building itself is 85 meters high and over 80 meters wide. To grasp this numbers we can roughly say that Ski Dubai is over 25 stories high and covers over 3 football fields of ground.

About Ski Dubai

The temperature inside the complex is -2 to 0 degrees of Celsius and it is the necessary temperature to keep the snow from melting. The snow is produced with snow guns from atomized liquid water. The atomized water clouds are sprayed with small particles of hard ice and they form snow crystals.

The capacity of this extraordinary establishment is 1500 guests. The visitors can try their skiing skills on 4 different runs. The runs are developed to suit the need of everyone, there are some beginners runs and also runs for some advance skiers or snowboarders. The runs vary in difficulty and also in height. The longest, most advance run is 400 meters long and it has a fall over 60 meters. The snowboarders can also test their skills and stunts at the Freestyle Zone. For the kids and their parents Ski Dubai offers an interactive Snow Park, which is a 3000 square meters snow park with a special snow cave. Everyone will find something interesting in this park.

The visiting tourist do not need to worry about winter clothes and skiing equipment. All equipment and outfit rental is included in the price of the entry ticket. People can choose from large variety of skiing outfits and skis or boards.

After the snowy fun time the visitors can catch their breath in one of the two luxury cafés. The first is the St. Moritz Café which is located right at the entrance to Ski Dubai, and the second is the Avalanche Café, which is at the mid-station of the slopes. Both cafes got a beautiful view of the whole complex. There is also one exclusive retail shop called Snow Pro where we can purchase various winter sports equipment. Furthermore we can ask for advice from any of the instructors about skiing or snowboarding, they are all professionals and they are here to help the new skiers and snowboarders.
If you visit Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and you get tired of the sand and the hot weather make sure to visit the Ski Dubai. You will see that it possible to ski or snowboard in the middle of the desert on real snow on temperatures slightly below zero degrees of Celsius.
