TIP: Combine weekly circulars with coupons for extra savings

A great idea is to combine the additional savings of coupons to items that are already lower from a weekly circular of a store. A handy tip is to cut out the coupon, staple it to the item in the weekly circular so you can easily identify and use it when shopping at the market.

Sometimes it's a pain just searching out for coupons and deals in your local area. What if there were others like you that shared the same passion of coupon clipping and you could inform each other of the best possible deals that are around. This is the idea behind a coupon club, you can share information and coupons with others so that you don't have the burden of looking for coupons by yourself. You can create a coupon club with in churches, workplaces, neighborhood organizations or any other place where people gather. If you want you can also run some ads near the local supermarkets, churches or other community sites (some places have cork boards where you can post announcements), stating you would like to start a coupon club. I am sure someone will be willing to share the same coupon clipping passion with you.

Once you join a coupon club, you will most likely participate by bringing coupons that you don't plan to use to the group meetings. This way, when everybody brings different coupons, everybody can utilize coupons depending on their need.

Thanks to the internet you can also find local networks where people may share the same interest in your coupon gathering. You will be fascinated at all the different information that people have, such as when a certain store has sales, what days of the week are the best to buy for certain stores and so on. A much more informed consumer is one who will save the most. One of the best way to begin your search for groups is google groups. Here are all the different google groups that offer coupons:

Google coupon groups
Yahoo coupon groups

If you are not familiar with the concept of web groups, it's really simple. You first join the group, then you can receive all emails from anybody that sends information to the group. If you send an email to the group, it will also be received by all the members and most likely anybody will be able to have an answer. You can email questions such as Does anybody have any coupons for cat food?, or any question you would like to ask.

Coupons for restaurants and fast food.

Make sure you search the fast food website to see if you can find any coupons available. Sometimes you will be surprised to find coupons for the places you eat often. I remember going to a local indian restaurant for over a year for my lunch before I decided to venture out into their website. To my surprise, there was a coupon for 10% off the meal. I only regretted that I didn't visit it sooner. Did you also know that some pizza places have coupons on their websites as well. I know that Pizza Hut does, since I got some coupons from there prior to placing my order. Never underestimate the power of the web!

Pizza Hut coupons
Dominos coupons -Check their site for coupons.
Kentucky fried chicken coupons -Want some chicken? These guys have coupons on their website so check them out before going there.

Using coupon tips

Use coupons not when you need stuff but when they are at the lowest price. Search for deals in the weekly circulars and purchase items at the lowest prices available.

Buy one get one free - Sometimes you can combine two coupons since you are buying two items but paying for one. Savings this way really stack up.

Double coupon days - Some markets double your coupons, do your shopping then.

Stack coupons - Some let you combine grocery market coupons with manufacturer coupons giving you twice the benefit.

Stock up on items - When you see a great deal that really adds up, make sure you don't just buy one item. Stock up so you can buy many for the whole year.

Stock up on coupons - Some coupons have very generous expiration dates. When this is the case, make sure you stock up on these coupons, you never know when you'll need them.

Important!

Tip: Utilize double coupon days in the supermarket

Some days for supermarkets, they will double the value of your coupon. Make sure you go shopping during those days!

Online coupon codes

Online shopping is growing ever so much more popular. At the same time, coupon codes are gaining in popularity as well. Online Coupon codes are text entries you put before checking out of a merchant's site to get a discount. Some of these discounts can be quite significant. It is easy to save money and no hassle of coupon clipping is involved!

If you plan to shop online you these are the steps you must follow!

1. Comparison shop - Places like pricegrabber.com, mysimon.com lets you see what great deals are available.

2. search for a deal - Make sure you search for an online deal to see what's available. Use a online deal search engine that helps you search various sources for the deal you are looking for.

3. Look for coupon codes. Most retailers have coupon codes these days. It is imperative that you look for coupon codes before purchasing because you could get a significant discount. To give you an example, Dell once had a coupon code taking $750 off a laptop. You could have gotten the discount by simply putting a promotional code in the shoppping cart area.

Here is a list of my favorite merchants offering promotional codes:

Travelocity:
You may find a travelocity promotional code that can save you hundreds of dollars.

Ebags:
Ebags offers discounts and deals often as well. Check out if there is an ebags promo code to use.

Dell
Dell promotional code - One of the best sites offering Dell coupon codes, since Dell has coupon codes so frequently.

VERIZON FIOS
verizon promotion code - Verizon offers discount and frequent promotions on their lightning fast FIOS broadband product.

There are many people who throw away stuff. People who are moving homes for example, tend to give away a lot of stuff they may not need. For some reason or another, people tend not to want stuff anymore. If you don't mind having something used, but free then try freecycle.com. Freecycling is the process of giving the item to someone else instead of throwing it away and filling up our landfills. All the information you need to know is provided in the freecycle site. You can even request what items you want. You will be surprised at how many people are willing to give away stuff for absolutely free. The website even has a freecycle etiquette such as:

1. Must be safe for all ages
2. Describe fully what you are offering or needing.
3. Don't discuss politics.
4. Include a photo if possible

Here are some of the freecycling sites:
Freeuse.org
Freeactivate.org
Freesharing.org
sharingisgiving.org
freecycle.org

Craigslist is also a great site to get free stuff. Each city has its own craigslist section so you can choose the area where you live. As I browse through my local Los Angeles area craigslist I can see things offered for free such as:

  • free facial

  • free spring mattress

  • free massage

  • free cabinets

  • free boxes

  • free rocks and soil

  • free tv

Not bad isn't it. I better go inquire about that free TV.

Help our armed forces with coupons

Sound ridiculous? It's not! I did not know this but I learned that the military stationed overseas can use manufacturer coupons six months after it expires. For a list of bases where you may be able to send coupons here it is

Armed forces bases for expired coupons.

Don't forget to price match

If you are shopping for items in places such as Circuit City or Best Buy, you should realize that a lot of these places have a price match guarantee, so that if there is a cheaper advertised price in a different retailer, then they may give you the difference plus an additional discount.

I recently bought a Garmin GPS from Best Buy. It was about $50 cheaper on Amazon. Although Amazon is not a neighborhood competitor, I threatened to purchase from Amazon instead and the manager gave me $30 off. Use price match to your advantage.

See how this coupon queen's adventures go from paying $135 to 13. Simply amazing. She stacks up on commonly needed things such as toilet paper and hot dogs during this adventure.
