- I love the tip of preheating the iron. I've been making bread camping with the guys for years and started making at 18th century reenactments as well for our company. It's always come out great, but I think it could be even better with a preheat! I'd imagine that this will make it all that much lighter, though I'll have to reduce the amount of dough that goes in the pot.

- Thank you for the great article. I am a Dutch Oven user and I really love them. One quick tip: some come coated in wax when newly bought be sure to melt that off before using it. For more information on Dutch Ovens visit: http://dutchoven.healthandfitnessjournals.com/

- I enjoyed reading this, and would like more information. You don't have any pictures of the oven and I'm not sure how to use it. Coals are mentioned. I have what I think is a dutch oven - a large black casserole. Is it the same? Can I bake bread by putting it on top of a wood burning stove? Do you have any pictures of your oven to add? This would be a great lens if you did have pictures and a few units from Amazon with pictures would be useful too. Many thanks for this excellent info.

- Bakers would not want to sill out their bread making tips and we should respect that. But there are reviews and articles that can provide you information how you can make a bread that would stand out.
