Nothing beats a front row seat in your home theater. The immersive experience of HD video with 7.1 surround sound on a big screen is about as good as it gets. But when you need to take your DVD library on the road with you, packing your entire DVD collection into your luggage just won't do. SlySoft has a number of products on the market for media authors and DVD enthusiasts. SlySoft CloneDVD 2 is hands down, the quickest, most intuitive DVD ripper we managed to get our hands on. Corel's DVD Copy 6 Plus includes software that makes ripping DVD video, AVI files or other video to your iPhone, PSP, Zune, computer hard drive, or another DVD disc a simple matter of point and click. We were impressed first and foremost by the simplicity of the program. That's not to say that Corel DVD Copy 6 Plus' feature set is underwhelming. On the contrary, it is a versatile and competent DVD ripper software, DVD burner and resource for preserving your multimedia library.

#4 Roxio MyDVD 10 Premier

MyDVD 10 Premier is an all around effective multimedia tool with an intuitive DVD ripper onboard. We're comfortable recommending Roxio's MyDVD 10 Premier to DVD burning novices and veterans alike. Bear in mind though, that for Blu-ray ripping and copying, Roxio MyDVD 10 Premier is ill equipped-for everything else, it easily passes muster.

Cyberlink Power2Go doesn't provide the full battery of ripping features we look for in a DVD ripper. In fact, despite some solid multimedia features and full support for Blu-ray ripping and burning, CyberLink's lackluster customer support structure prevented us from ranking them higher. All caveats aside however, the user looking to consolidate, back up and burn discs from a media library of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs will still find Power2Go useful.

Given the converting, copying and burning capabilities of ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum, its price tag is reasonable. Whether you're making backup copies of your favorite DVDs or converting video to watch on your iPhone, ImTOO DVD Ripper is a competent performer.
