Rain-Proof, Non-Slipping Dynamo

Do Rain-Proof Dynamos Exist?
If you ride a bicycle and like myself live in a rainy area, you probably know the problem. When rain starts, the lights go out. Your dynamo starts slipping and becomes essentially useless (except for making strange noises). Of course, you could upgrade to battery-powered light. But then you need batteries. They discharge fast (even when the light is not used), they have an annoying tendency to fall out from their sockets when you hit the bumps, or maybe a battery-powered light is not even easy to mount on your bike. This leaves a great unsettled question to be addressed: Are There Rain-Proof Dynamos?
Yes, Rain-Proof Dynamos Do Exist
(Although twice as expensive as the slippy ones.)
The second last dynamo that I bought cost me just 8 EUR (about 11 USD). It was one of the slipping sort. Moreover, I manage to kill it in a few months - the plastic cap which is supposed to rub the wheel got damaged and broke off. In the end, it stopped working even in good weather conditions, but it surely made some tormenting noise.
The happy news is that rain-proof dynamos do in fact exist, and my last dynamo, shown in the above picture, is a living (well, not quite) proof. This dynamo is manufactured by a firm in Netherlands (I am not affiliated in any way) and the particular model is called AXA HR Traction Power Control. It is a fat, bulky, black dynamo (compared to the previous bad one). The cap is made of rubber, not plastic, and I was told by the guy in the shop it can be replaced when it wears off. I paid 15 EUR (21 USD) for it, but I am pleased. It keeps working even if the wheel is completely wet (the lights may become a bit dimmer, but they don't go out or start blinking). In terms of strange noise, there is almost none.
This concludes my dynamo-hunting experience. Good luck and take care on the roads!

Dynamos on eBay
Not necessarily rain-proof! Buyer beware!
Here you get a unique ;-) opportunity to find out whether eBay has any magnificent dynamos on sale. Not just three, but five *gasp* items displayed (most of which do not actually seem to by dynamos - curse the technology). Anyway, thank you for following the sponsored links and making me and Mr. Godin filthy rich in the process.

I know that you always secretly dreamed about becoming a closet expert on dynamos like myself. Here is your chance to find great dynamo literature, educate yourself and beat the pros. Hey, they even seem to have some non-book dynamos that might work when you pour water on them.
