Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

In the area of bagless vacuums, Dyson vacuum cleaners are considered to be the clear leader. A bagless vacuum does away with the hassle of purchasing and changing vacuum bags. On top of that, it also means there is one less expense to add to the budget. Instead of the old-fashioned vacuum cleaners, the bagless vacs have a removable dust collection reservoir.

The Dyson Difference

Dyson vacuum cleaners can clean your home like no other vacuum can, and that is a fact. If you have any doubts about that statement, here are four good reasons that will cast those doubts to the wind.
  • Dyson vacuums never lose suction. Other vacuums lose suction over time, so the more you use them, the less effective they are at cleaning your home.

  • Patented Cyclone technology picks up more dust and pet hair, room after room. Other systems clog, leaving dirt and pet-related debris on floors.

  • Air expelled from a Dyson is 99.99 percent cleaner than when it entered the vacuum. Dyson vacuums capture up to 99.99 percent of all dirt and dust particles via cyclonic separation. A pleated HEPA filter captures allergens and particles as small as 0.01 micron.

  • Dyson vacuums are easy to use and maneuver. No need to get dusty emptying the bin. Simply push the button and you are done. Lifetime HEPA and washable filters mean you never have to buy bags.

Dyson Vacuum Cleaners Top Of The Bagless Vacuum Category

The Dyson brand of vacuum cleaners are the biggest sellers among bagless models. Because of their popularity, more and more often their design is being used as a model that other manufacturers are copying. This means that there are now a number of choices on the market, if you are interested in getting a bagless vacuum.

This is welcomed news for many because of the fact that the Dyson Vacuum Cleaners do cost more than other brands. But, at the same time, the Dyson models routinely get very high marks and reviews from those who own them. Over the years, many have questioned whether or not the Dyson vacuums are really worthy of the higher price tag, but owners tend to answer that question with a strong affirmative.

The most recent Dyson model to be introduced to the market is the Dyson DC17 Animal. This model retails at around $550 and has already gotten many positive reviews from those who have had a chance to test it. Virtually all of the reviewers claim that this new model is more powerful and is better designed than it's predecessor, the Dyson model DC14, which retails at about the same price.

One of the nice extras on this newest model is that is comes with a handheld accessory that has a revolving brush built in. This tool is designed to quickly and easily remove pet hair from any upholstery. Owners are reporting that this new tool is a great timesaver. Another of the new features on the DC17, is an automatic function that adjusts for the pile-height of the carpet being cleaned.

There are some reviewers of this new model who say that while the machine is very good overall, it is not particularly any better or worse than previous models. This is not necessarily any kind of negative comment because the Dyson vacuums have a long history of receiving very high marks. This simply means that the new model meets the previous high standards for the Dyson brand. One drawback for some is that this new model, like the other Dyson upright vacuums, weighs in at 21 pounds, which some owners feel is just too heavy.

The Dyson model DC17 is not actually a self-propelled model. However, a number of the reviewers made comments about how the very powerful brush-roller effectively pulls the unit across the floor, and the only thing the operator needed to do was to steer it. In testing against the Hoover Wind Tunnel and the Shark Infinity vacuums, the Dyson DC17 was reported to be much easier than the Shark or the Hoover vacuum to push and to maneuver around the room.

In order to keep the Dyson Vacuum Cleaners functioning properly, it is necessary to empty the dustbin regularly. One advantage of the Dyson models is that it is easy to see when the dustbin is becoming full, so there is no guesswork involved, as there is when dealing with vacuum bags.

The Story of Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

In 1978, after being inspired while housecleaning, inventor and designer James Dyson decided to create a vacuum that didn't lose suction power with use.

Five years and more than 5,000 prototypes later, Dyson introduced the first cyclonic vacuum. Using a powerful centrifugal air system, this early machine outperformed other uprights with its efficient design and unflagging suction.

Established vacuum companies of the day failed to take Dyson up on his ingenious design, so in 1993 he opened his own factory in England. Within two years, the Dyson cyclonic upright was outselling every other vacuum in the UK.

The vacuum was so popular, in fact, that Dyson had to go to court repeatedly to stop big-league manufacturers from infringing on his patent.

Today, the Dyson vacuum is still the only one on the market with a unique eight-chamber cyclonic construction. Dyson scientists and engineers continue to refine the original design, along with perfecting other inventions like the two-drum washing machine.

Now sold the world over, Dyson products have come to represent breakthrough technology, innovative design, and unparalleled performance.

Dyson HEPA Vacuum Cleaners Effective Against Allergens

Carpeting, rugs, upholstery, mattresses and bedding all have one thing in common. They are sites where bacteria, pollutants, allergens and dust mites collect in great number. On top of that, anyplace where dust mites are found, there is also going to be an ample supply of their feces that they have left behind as well. These kinds of allergens contaminate the environment of your home, but can be significantly reduced by making use of a HEPA vacuum regularly.

According to doctors, dust mites and the resultant dust mite feces make up a significant portion of the allergens and indoor pollutants found in homes. These pollutants in turn are often the irritants that cause many to suffer from allergies and which can add to asthma problems. You can take a step in allergy-proofing your home and reducing such irritants by using anti-allergen casings on your mattresses and your pillows. In addition, specialists recommend regular and frequent vacuuming with a HEPA machine.

A HEPA vacuum is a household machine, or an industrial vacuum, that utilizes a special filter that is made to meet the HEPA standards. HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air and it has been adopted as the expected standard by the industry, not only for vacuum filters, but also for air purifiers for homes and businesses. In fact, a vacuum with a HEPA filter is an important part of an efficient home air purification system, even though it is sometimes overlooked.

A crucial step in controlling and minimizing household dust and dirt, and the pollutants that are contained in it, is to routinely clean the carpeting and the upholstery in the household with a HEPA vac. According to one expert at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the use of HEPA type filters in upright vacuums or canister vacuums can effectively eliminate the dust particles that are found inside homes.

One of the reasons why a HEPA unit is so effective in this regard, is that in order for a filter to be certified as a HEPA filter, it must be capable of removing 99.97% of airborne particles that are down to 0.3 microns in size. This size of 0.3 microns is the approximate size of particles of pet dander, mold, pollen and even some smog and smoke. Any particle that is under the size of 10 microns has the potential for settling deeply into the lungs, causing a multitude of respiratory problems over time.

A HEPA vac can be found today in many different brands and models and also across many price ranges. One of the first decisions in choosing a HEPA unit is knowing if you prefer upright vacuums or canister vacuums, as HEPA filtration is available in both styles. Two of the primary advantages of a HEPA upright machine is its effectiveness on carpeting with the stronger beater brushes available and also the ease of adjusting the vacuum unit for various carpet pile depths. In addition, the upright units are generally considered to be easier to operate because everything is contained within the body of the machine.

It is interesting to note that in some areas of the United States and throughout Europe, canister vacs are clearly the best vacuum of choice because of the fact that more canister vacuums are sold in those areas than their upright counterparts. A HEPA vacuum that is of the canister style, will have a larger and more powerful motor, giving the canisters more suction efficiency. Also, the vacuum head of canister units is smaller, as compared to uprights, and is therefore able to reach smaller spaces and awkward areas.
