eCommerce Opportunities and Pitfalls

It was back in the early days of the Internet -- I believe it was 1997 -- that I had the good fortune to be sent by my then-employer to a 2-day course on HTML. That turn of events, which seemed inconsequential at the time, actually opened a door for me that is closed for millions of other people. I'm not saying that you need to know HTML in order to start a web site or get involved in selling products or services on the Web, but having that knowledge and wanting to do something with it helps give you a nudge to get started.

Every good business has a blog.

This is a blog I creating as an Internet Marketing Specialist for Mountain Media, an ecommerce web site development company in upstate New York. As of this writing (11/17/08), I've only posted three blog entries, but my goal is to update it at least once a week. The first three topics relate to starting an ecommerce business, choosing a web hosting provider, and a couple basic things to know about Internet security.
