American Bald Eagles

The majestic Bald Eagle is the American national symbol. We photographed this bird at Lowry Park Zoo, Tampa. We have seen eagle nests, but, couldn't get close enough for a good photograph of the birds. You can see eagles in their Maine nest with baby chick on the video link below.

Eagle Flying

This picture is exciting to me because it is the first time in 12 years that I have been able to catch a wild eagle in flight. No, it's not good enough quality to be included in Kuyper Photography's images for sale. It cannot be submitted to any of the 3 stock photography agencies that represent our work.
But, I was still thrilled to spot the eagle during a photo shoot at Celery Fields, Sarasota, Florida. And delighted when I was able to capture it digitally. It was very far away and flying very high in the sky.
We see osprey birds and their nests frequently, but, rarely see American Bald Eagles.

Eagles Eating

As you know, eagles are birds of prey. These videos show the eagles consuming prey.

Watch mother eagle raise chicks.

This is BioDiversity Research Institute's second live eagle webcam. They have a camera located 70 feet up in a white pine tree and a second camera located about ten feet above the nest in the nest tree. providing live video of a nesting pair of Bald Eagles, 24 hours a day. This nest is in central Maine and is has long history of use and nesting success.

There are two sets of video here; one from 2009 and one from 2010. The 2009 shows the entire life cycle from egg to fledgling eagle bird. I love to watch the eagle feed her young chick.

I'm fortunate to live in an area where it is not uncommon to see them, but it still makes my day every time I see one. Well done lens! Lensrolled to my Bald Eagles in Winter lens.
