Debunking the Low-Fat Myth - Dr. Al Sears

If you want to live a long, healthy life, forget about modern recommendations to eat like a rabbit and avoid fat. The best diet for man is the one we were eating for eons.

You have a natural desire for a diet rich in protein and fat. When you fuel your body with the foods for which it was designed, you will find that losing weight comes easier and faster and you will wake up with energy that will last the whole day.

The American Heart Association claims that the path to good health is a low-fat diet. This is exactly the wrong advice, and their "solution" has actually made the problem worse.

A low-fat diet is a prescription for losing vital muscle and turning your body into flab. When you eat low-fat, you neglect the most important nutrient, protein. Even worse, low-fat diets are loaded with the real saboteur of modern diets, processed carbohydrates.

It's time to put an end to counting calories and grams of fat. Today, I'm going to show you:

- Why avoiding dietary fat is dangerous.

- Why carbohydrates increase your body fat.

- How protein makes you strong, lean, and disease-resistant.

- Why cholesterol is not the threat you've been told.

I've helped hundreds of people use this approach, and I've watched them make a remarkable transition to become lean, healthy, and disease-free.

The Only Way to Guarantee Financial Independence

By Michael Masterson

Today, you are going to make a commitment to make more money.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea, does it? If you are ambivalent, consider this: The only way to be truly independent - to not have to rely on relatives, friends, and the government for material support - is to have a good deal of money sitting somewhere, earning interest for you.

But how are you going to put away "a good deal" of money? If you believe in the millionaire-next-door myth, you'll answer: "By scrimping and saving!" But did you know that most studies that tout "the miracle of compound interest" take place over 30 or 40 years? Who wants to wait 30 or 40 years to get wealthy? Who can?

As I explain in my book Automatic Wealth, the only way an average income earner can set aside a lot of money is to earn a lot of money. Are you earning a lot of money now? Would you like to earn more?

I hope so, because with the war against Iraq, the decline of the dollar, and the overvaluation of the stock market, our economy is straining at the seams. If air starts coming out - and it may happen this year - taxes will be higher and net income, overall, will be lower.

Your best defense is a proactive strike on the income side - by making a commitment to earn more money.

How about promising to boost your family income - the amount of money you bring home - by between 10% and 25% this year? If your family income is now $80,000, for example, set a target of between $88,000 and $100,000.

If you accomplish this goal, you'll not only be richer, you'll also be in a much better position to make more money the following year. Each time you boost your income, you develop knowledge, strategies, networks, and habits that make it easier to boost your income in the future.

You don't need too many years of 10% - 25% increases before you are solidly on the road to financial independence. In fact, at some point in time (and it will probably come sooner than you think if you get serious about this commitment), you won't have to think about your income at all. It will be plenty big enough to take care of all your material needs and fantasies %u2026 and you'll have enough going to savings to ensure a safe and comfortable "retirement."

How to Get Out of That Damned Rut

By Michael Masterson

Good friend and business partner PH asked these questions:

"How do you get out of a rut? Regain passion for your work? Get yourself up for each day? Have you thought about this? It happens to me often. I find it makes me miserable. I feel guilty and useless, because I tend to piss away the day. The only way I get back into it is to get on a good roll with a new project. But sometimes that takes too much time to happen."

What can you say about this experience PH describes? That it sucks?

You wake up tired and unmotivated. You dread work. Everything seems more interesting than what you have to do.

The feeling can pass in a few hours or it can last for days - even weeks. It is entirely unproductive - and completely unnecessary.

I'll tell you how to banish this experience from your life in a moment. But before I do, let's talk about why you occasionally feel this way.

The Following 3 Paragraphs May Be Unsuitable for Children and True Believers

The reason you occasionally feel that your work has no meaning is because it has none. The same goes for your life. The universe is - sorry to say - a void, not a magical kingdom created for your personal amusement.

Meaning - and the passion that goes with it - is not something that exists outside of you. It comes from within you. You can't capture it. You can only create it. The moment you stop creating it, it is gone.

The feeling of malaise you get when you fall into a rut is a let down of energy - energy that you have been creating all along.

Okay . . . maybe you don't buy that. A meaningless universe might contradict your beliefs. But it doesn't matter. Because what I'm about to tell you will work regardless of whether you understand the cause and effect of it all.

  • I just recently found Early to Rise and read everything. Michael Masterson has opened my eyes and mind to some wonderful ideas that I plan to dive into. My family business is struggling and I have begun to get some back-up plans ready for me so that I am not in a state of panic if the business fails. I'm not in a situation right now to walk away from my current position but I have been worried for quite some time. Thanks to everything I have been reading, I now feel more relaxed and assured that I can start over in a new direction on my own. Thanks Michael for helping me to establish some preliminary goals.

  • My name is Paul Hobart and I have been a golf professional for the past 20 years. I love what I do, and will be involved in golf and the instruction of the game for the rest of my life. Thanks to my daily reading of ETR, and everything else that Michael writes, my eyes are beginning to open to a world of tremendous opportunity. I have begun the creation of my new golf instruction website, and have expansive plans that will create a wonderful resource for people, and tremendous income opportunities for me.

I've always been a great "idea guy," and thanks in advance to Michael and his team for helping me turn my ideas into real-world, living breathing, sustaining, business ideas that I now feel confident I can implement. My continued Michael Masterson supplementation has done more than give me information, it has changed the way my mind works and that is invaluable!

Thank you Michael for connecting me to my abundant future.

    Warm regards,

    Paul
  • I am a 25 y/o, young entrepreneur and businessman. I turned down medical school, never got accepted to dental school (what I thought I wanted to do with my life), and entered the business world as a result. I just received my LLC papers from the Secretary of State and am about a month away from getting my business up and running. My partner and I save several of the ETR emails (the article on import and export - 8.31.06 - is one of our favorites). I have not quit my current job as the Director of Human Resources (how I got this job I'll never know, but I do give "Automatic Wealth for Grads" a lot of credit) because I want to finish the initial phases of why I was hired to begin with and i want to MAKE SURE my own company will prove to be as profitable as I think it can be.

I read and reread "Automatic Wealth for Grads" back in June '06 and have been putting it to work in full force. I reference it several times a week. I am off to the bookstore to negotiate a better price for "Seven Years to Seven Figures" and can't wait to get that in my hands (I try to negotiate a better price for everything - like the girlfriend's birthday gifts, airfare, etc.).

I'd love the opportunity to meet Mr. Michael Masterson some day as he is someone I try to emulate. Good luck with all your future business endeavors.

Oh yeah! The idea for our new company's slogan and name came from a "word to the wise" i read in ETR. Of course, we changed it up and made it more "french."
