Earning money doing something you love to do
Writing for eHow is a great way to share what you know and learn from other writers. It is an excellent writer's resource. Earning money from your articles is a nice added bonus. You will be paid every month for the amount of money your articles earned. This money comes from revenue generated by Google ads placed around your content on the page. When someone reads your article and clicks one of the ads, you earn whatever that click is worth. There is no set amount per page view as with some other sites, but I personally think you make more off the revenue share than some sites that only do page views.I earn a lot more from eHow than I do some of my other sites. Getting started
You can add links to your personal web site or blog and any other articles you have posted on other sites. Then just start writing and submitting articles. There is an article writing wizard on the site that makes writing and submitting your articles easy, places to add links and references to other sites you have interest in. The articles you post on eHow have to be unique articles written by you or you as plagiarism is not tolerated.
Important Update:
eHow is no longer accepting member submitted content. The Writers Compensation Program is closed now, but you can still write for eHow through Demand Studios.

How to add links to increase your revenue
One ver good way to increase your article revenue is to add links to your articles. You can link to other articles you have written or to products pages at amazon.com or ebay.com or references to other affiliate sites you own. You can put these links in at the bottom section of the wizard that says "links" but you are not allowed to put links in the article body because the article must not read like an advertizement. The article body is for the site and the link section is for you. Give and take. If you have submitted any articles to EzineArticles.com you will be familiar with this concept. Promoting your articles:
Freelance Writing Resources
Make your articles stand out in the crowd:
Write about interesting topics that have not been done to death. Look for subjects with some competition but not a lot. Take an idea and put your own spin on it or look at it from another angle. For example instead of making your title: How to make money writing for Ehow- you could use How to write more articles to increase your earnings at Ehow. You can use this format to see how many other articles may have the same title you wish to use Site:ehow.com(make money with ehow)this will bring up all articles on the site that have that name or reference in the title. Just keep changing the keywords in the parentheses until you get results that show fewer pages. This way you will have a chance of your article being found and read. Amazon Suggestions for Writers
Resources for Writing for the Web
- Writing for Info Barrel
- I started writing for InfoBarrel on September 8, 2009. I put 4 articles out on their website. InfoBarrel does not require articles to be written in 3rd person. It is a great place to write in an informative, first person style. Many writers from eHow also place their deleted articles on the InfoBarrel website because they allow previously published content.
- Writing for Life123.com
- I started writing for Life123 on October 30, 2009. I heard about the site from another freelance writer in a forum. I was curious about their payment structure, so decided to give Life123 a try. Here is an explanation of the freelance writing terms and my personal experience with Life123.
- Writing for Suite101
- I began writing for Suite101 at the beginning of 2009. Many writers are intimidated by the applicant approval process and editorial process at Suite101. I'm here to tell you that if I can do it, so can you. I am not a professional writer, nor am I particularly brilliant in any given subject.
- How to Start Freelance Writing
- This lens is to help teach you how to be a freelance writer. Learning to become a freelance writer is difficult, but it is possible - maybe even more so today than ever before.
I write full time for a company now (I job I acquired through impressive freelance work with said company) and couldn't be happier, but I know what it's like to make a living writing and to try to climb that ladder. It's rough, it's hard, and I barely squeaked by out of necessity, but the feeling of living from words is one I wouldn't trade for the world.

- This is a very informative and stimulating lens. It offers hope, and a spark of energy to those who are contemplating on-line freelance writing. I have considered ehow, and I suspect that Demand Media Studios is a little to rigid for me, so I chose the more flexible and interesting squidoo platform. Your lens is very easy to read, and flows nicely. As a beginner, I have learned a thing or two from your nice style. Thank You.
