- The Tech Museum Earthquake Exhibit
- A historic to present day overview of seismographs. Good animations of the various types of faults.
- PBS Restless Planet
- Learn about earthquake predictions and engineering to withstand earthquakes. Check out the animations and Quicktime movies.
- Scripps' Institute Richter Scale Visualization
- This site has a tool where you can manipulate the Richter magnitude, S- and P-distribution and amplitude. It was designed by a high school intern at the Scripps Institute. Instructions are on the right bar.

- Web-and-Flow Webquest
- A webquest split into different roles, such as developer, city planners & emergency planners. More appropriate for middle school.
- 5th grade Earthquake Webquest
- Design a plan for earthquake preparedness for a town, including educating the population. There are clearly assigned roles in this group webquest.
- How Stuff Works Webquest
- A clearly defined webquest for middle school students.
- Educator's Reference Desk Webquest
- An indivual, 1-period webquest for 5-8th graders.
- Middle School Webquest
- This earthquake webquest is a 10 day process. This may be helpful for homeschoolers or for schools with a very student-centered approach.

- Even the most trained scientists really don't fully understand the workings of earthquakes. I think the future of the research is getting children involved in the learning process where the simplistic approach would bring tremendous breakthrough in the research instead of over thinking everything.
