Moving towards a world without fossil fuels
As it says in My Bio, I have had an interest in other than the conventional forms of energy (coal, oil, gas, nuclear power) for many years, often combined with building biology and natural, non (or at least low-) -toxic materials with which we surround ourselves. In view of an accelerating development towards a shortage in fossil fuels and the negative effects on this planet to which the use of these energy sources has contributed, the finding and promoting of these 'new' options has become ever more important.
It is my aim to make this lens a hub for other sub-lenses with specific themes, such as bio fuel, bio diesel, wind power etc. I will gather information and package it not just to present different technologies and choices but, above all, to show how everyone can have access to them and use them. I know it is a bit of a worn out phrase but every little really helps.

The End of the Perfect Solution
A reorientation towards a sustainable future based on the mix-and-match principle
None of firewood's successors was any better. Neither charcoal nor coal, oil, gas or plutonium have proved to be the one-stop solution mankind has been craving. One of the main aspects of renewable fuels now touted to be the cure-alls is that they, too, do not have all the answers. The way forward will only lead to a successful turn-around of our energy problems and the disastrous effects of energy consumption if we focus on finding combinations of sources that reflect the best possible mix based on the environmental, economical and social factors of the area where they are to be deployed. That also means to depart from the idea that one solution fits all, such as a whole country, and to move towards flexible, smaller scale thinking, which covers regions of various sizes - from villages to several counties or states.
