Express Yourself In A Hat
Whether you like to wear a hat to church or have one of the festive variety for a party or parade, there is a hat for you.
With the start of spring, the straw hats and flowers come out. In this case, flowers on a straw hat. For some though, an Easter Hat is a bid deal, and I mean BIG!.
Easter Hat and Bonnet Parades are popular and bring out the largest and most creative hats of all. Most begin with a plain straw hat and build on that with all things Easter as you will see in the video below.
There doesn't seem to be a real right or wrong way to embellish a hat, but I have included a how to video to help get you started.

That's Right, Turn It Upside Down
Buying a pre-made Easter Basket that is filled with goodies is a good way to grab many themed items and a basket at one time.
Use an Easter Basket to make a hat by turning it upside down. The basket will set on your head and the handle will come down under your chin.
Use what came inside the basket to decorate your new hat. Glue or pin the items to the bottom of the basket.

Easter Hats For Ladies
Embellishing A Hat For Church Or Parties
Using scarves, ribbons, bows, flowers, brooches and small feathers you can achieve a look that is special and appropriate for the occasion. Of course this can all be glued on.I have found that by gluing the parts of your adornment all together, then pinning the whole thing to your hat, will make the same hat reusable for different occasions.
If your still not so much on flowers and bows on your hat, a simple brooch will add some flair. Brooches can also be used as the center piece of a larger design.
You may have a few in the jewelry box already. I have some handed down from my grandmother.
Pinning things to your hat ~ I suggest that if your hat came with a band around it, try to pin your decoration to the hat band. In most cases it will be easier than going through the hat. Secure it well though, and test it out by shaking your head a little to make sure it doesn't end up flopping around.

- Where did that first image you added, with the four women in their hats, come from? I really like it. Would be nice to see what else that artist has done.

- Wow - I'm psyched! I never considered decorating my own hat, but you make it sound like so much fun. I remember wearing Easter hats when I was young, but haven't worn one to church in ages. I really love hats, and now I'm inspired. :-)

- No, I don't look that good in them. They're usually too big.

- When I was a little girl I thought it would be wonderful to have a special 'Easter bonnet'. Now I'm grown up I don't know where I'd wear one, but I still love the idea of gorgeous hats for special occasions. That blue one is particularly nice.
