Easter Bunny Costumes

The first things that come to our minds when we think of Easter (of course aside from the risen Christ) are the Easter egg hunt, Easter eggs and the Easter bunny. Just thinking about Easter and the activities that comes along with it evokes fun, excitement and playtime.

Children anticipate the games and activities associated with Easter like the popular Easter egg hunt where somebody hides the eggs and then the children will come searching for it. The child who gathers the most number of eggs wins a prize. Another popular game among children and adult alike is the Easter egg toss. The game calls for at least four or five pairs. The assigned pair faces each other at a distance of approximately five feet. At a cue, the person holding the egg tosses it carefully at the other person. The object is to prevent the egg from breaking by catching it with both hands. The next round will require all participants to take a large step backwards. They repeat the toss and again make a step backwards and this is repeated until a pair who preserves the egg without breaking it at the farthest distance wins.

Another game much anticipated by kids is the Easter egg race. The game requires five participants who will try to push the eggs to a distance of about ten feet using only their noses. The kid who does push the egg in the fastest time wins. Another game is decorate your Easter egg contest. This requires creativity and imagination to win and children just love what they can do with paints and brushes.

And another hit activity during this time is the do-it-yourself Easter bunny costumes contest. This activity will now require adult supervision and even adult participation. The objective of the contest is to create a home-made bunny costumes using materials that are readily available in the house. The most creative or the most bunny-like costume wins.

This game will just require you to produce four or five plain white sweaters. Preferably these are old sweaters that are not being used or if this is not possible you may want to ask in advance those who will attend to bring with them extra unused sweaters for the game. Other materials that you will need include scissors, pink felt papers, glue, old socks, some cottons, baseball caps, face paint and safety pins.

The first thing to do is cut the pink felt paper into an oval shape. The size should be enough to cover the front of the sweater. This will represent the belly of the bunny. Next, attach the oval shape using glue. Let it dry for a few minutes before wearing it.

Next, make the tail of the bunny by using the socks and rolling it until it looks like a ball. Attach several cottons to the rolled-up sock using glue until it is fluffy enough. Using several safety pins attach the tail to the pants of the participant.

The ears of the bunny could be made using again old socks. Fill two socks with papers or newspapers until it is circular or tubular in form. Attach the filled-up socks to the baseball cap using safety pins. Then make bunny paws from old socks. To add the finishing touches to the costume, paint and design the faces of the costume wearer using face paints. Using the face faint can create whiskers, eyes, teeth of the bunny on the faces of the costume wearer.

Give the participants enough time to finish the project. It is recommended that each team or participant is composed of one parent and one child or one parent and two children. The team who does the costume in the most creative way wins a prize.

Easter can be fun for the young and old alike. What with the games and other fun activities that can be done. These activities are also a way to strengthen family ties and provide children an avenue to express their creativity and artistic inclinations.
