Everyone Loves Jelly Beans!

Jelly beans are a small bean-shaped candy with a crisp sugary exterior and a gummy interior. Their primary ingredient is sugar with trace amounts of binders and food coloring. Each color has its own unique flavour to enjoy. The fruit flavored beans are a popular candy loved equally by adults as well as children. It's believed jelly beans have been around since the 1800's. By the 1900's they were becoming very popular and were one of the first candies to be sold by their weight in bulk quantities. They are available all year round and are commonly given as gifts around Easter and Valentine's Day.

How fun. In China they don't sell jelly beans unless they are imported. In fact, they never had them until Ronald Reagan visited China, and then you could find a wimpy version - strange flavors and texture - that they called "Reagan Beans." Give me Jelly Belly any time. Vanilla.
