Easy Gorgonzola Bacon Appetizer Recipe
Crispy Bacon Appetizers with Creamy Ranch Dressing
The best appetizers are those that make the mouth water in anticipation and these hot, salty bacon and cheese appetizers do just that. Bacon-wrapped nibbles are always popular and you can choose from scallop wrapped in bacon appetizers, a bacon wrapped prune appetizer, a recipe for bacon wrapped sausage appetizer and more. If you want to combine salty bacon with something sweet you could wrap the bacon around dates or banana chunks. Bacon-wrapped cheese is a great appetizer and you can use any kind of cheese you like.
Gorgonzola is an especially tasty cheese to use in this bacon appetizers recipe because it is naturally salty. It is also firm enough to hold its shape when heated. If you want to add some sweetness, feel free to put a small piece of banana in each appetizer. When you put the toothpicks through the cheese and bacon, make sure they go through the banana too, so the appetizers do not fall apart in the deep fryer. You might want to put two toothpicks through each one, in a cross shape, just to make sure. You can serve these appetizers with fresh toothpicks or let them cool down enough so people can use their fingers to pick them up.
This bacon appetizer recipe shows you how simple it is to make easy party appetizers with just a few ingredients. You only need cheese, bacon, and oil to make these and you can make them in five minutes. It is important to let this gorgonzola bacon appetizer rest for at least five minutes after cooking it. This is both so the fat can drain off and so they are not too hot for your guests to eat.
Ingredients -
2 lbs gorgonzola cheese
12 strips smoked bacon
Oil for deep-frying
12 toothpicks
1 lb sour cream
1 teaspoon concentrated tomato puree
1 oz package ranch dressing mix
Preparation:
Preheat a deep fryer to 400 degrees F.
Cut the cheese into 12 pieces.
Wrap a strip of bacon around each piece of cheese and secure it with a toothpick.
Drop the bacon-wrapped cheese blocks carefully into the hot oil and cook them until the bacon is browned and crispy.
This will take about 4 minutes.
Use tongs to remove the appetizers and drain them on brown paper.
Let them cool for 5 minutes, and then remove the toothpicks.
Stir the ranch dressing mix and tomato puree into the sour cream and transfer this dip into a small dish.
Arrange the bacon-wrapped gorgonzola appetizers on a serving platter and put the dish of dip in the center.
Serve the bacon-wrapped gorgonzola appetizers warm.
(Serves 12)

Baked Lamb Kebabs with Spices
Easy Spiced Lamb Kebabs
This lamb kebabs recipe is delicious and the aroma of the mustard seeds and spices are amazing. Either fresh cilantro or dried coriander can be used in this medieval lamb kebabs recipe, since both give excellent results. This is not a marinated lamb kebabs recipe so it does not take long to make. These lamb kebabs, also sometimes spelt lamb kabobs, do go very nicely with raita, which is a cucumber and mint sauce.
A creamy yogurt dip is also suitable for these easy party appetizers. The kebabs just require that your mix the ingredients together and bake them - that is how easy they are. Why make a complicated lamb kebab recipe when you can get delicious results from this simple easy party appetizers recipe?
There are different types of kabobs you can consider making if you are going to serve them as an appetizer. These lamb kabobs are made by shaping the mixture around a stick. Some kabobs are made by threading different ingredients on to skewers and these can be meat, fish, or seafood appetizers. Maybe you have had shrimp kabobs with shrimps and slices of bell pepper and onion, or something similar to that.
Ingredients -
Pack of lean minced lamb
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garam masala
2 onions, finely diced
½ teaspoon chili powder or 1 teaspoon chili sauce
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ tablespoon fresh cilantro leaves
4 bamboo skewers
Preparation:
Soak the skewers in water for 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Put the spices into a bowl with the onions. Add the chili sauce and lamb mince.
Mix everything together using your hands.
Mold the lamb mixture around the skewers, shaped like long sausages, leaving the last inch free.
Drizzle a little oil over them if you like and put some aluminum foil over a baking tray.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
Serve hot with a cool dip.
(Serves 4)

Greek Yogurt Dip with Feta Cheese
Authentic Garlic Greek Yogurt Dip
This light and refreshing dip is ideal with anything dry or spicy. The flavors of mint and yogurt are cooling, especially if you are dipping a spicy food. The feta and sour cream have sharp flavors and the garlic goes perfectly too. Feta has a strong, slightly sour flavor, making it great to contrast with spicy foods. Feta is one of the most popular Greek cheeses and you can use it to make Greek salads, as well as to make tasty dip recipes.
This Greek yogurt dip can be served with lamb kebabs, crudités, flatbread, or any other easy party appetizers, which would go. Cool slices of cucumber go well, as do crunchy asparagus spears. You can garnish this Greek yogurt dip with some cilantro leaves, mint leaves, or even a sprinkling of paprika over the top. Greek dips are good chilled or at room temperature, so you can serve it how you like.
There are different yogurt dip recipes, such as curry yogurt vegetable dip and tomato flavored yogurt dips but this recipe for yogurt dip is very easy to make and you simply have to put everything in a blender and process until smooth and creamy.
Ingredients -
¼ cup chopped fresh mint
1 ½ cups crumbled feta cheese
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ cup sour cream
½ cup Greek style yogurt
Salt
Black pepper
Preparation:
Combine the mint, garlic, sour cream, yogurt, and feta cheese in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve with lamb kebabs, pita bread, or crudités.
