What is an Easy Bake Oven?

According to Wikipedia, the Easy-Bake Oven currently a product of Hasbro, is a working toy oven that for many years used an ordinary light bulb as a heat source. Now it has a true heating element.

Eleven versions of the Easy-Bake Oven have been sold since it first deputed. By 1997, more than 16 million Easy-Bake Ovens had been sold.

The oven comes with packets of pastry mix and small round pans. After water is added to the mix in the pan, it is pushed into the oven through a slot. After cooking, the cake is pushed out through a slot in the opposite end.

Many young girls remember asking for their first Easy Bake Oven.

My daughter is always asking if she can cook in her Easy Bake Oven. The problem is, I never have the prepackaged desserts and such on hand...and if your daughter is like mind, it can get a little pricey.

So I went on a search to find an alternative solution.

Guess what? I found some really neat recipes that you can make from things right out of your own kitchen and some amazing cookbooks to purchase with even more ideas!

So go get your little girl and have fun!
