Beef And Broccoli Stir Fry

Stir fry is Chinese cooking method which is emphasizing very high heat temperature and fast stirring to cook ingredients. The result is very fast cooking without overcooked, lost important vitamins and great "wok hei" aroma and flavor of meals.

My family love everything about Chinese food and stir fry. One of our favorite is beef and broccoli, favorite all the time stir fry dish of American Chinese cuisine. Crunchiness of broccoli and juicy succulent beef slices with some garlicky ginger sauce make this stir fry is winner among the crowds. This dish is very easy to fix. All you need is some decent ingredients and preparation. You can save some money to cook your own beef and broccoli stir fry and most important it's msg and preservatives free. You can adjust sodium level according to your taste. This dish will be please your family or guest.

Beef And Broccoli Stir Fry Recipe

Easy to make. Great taste.

Ingredients:
1 lbs beef sirloin, sliced thinly
1 lbs broccoli florets,
3 tbsp cooking oil for stir frying beef
3 tbps cooking oil for stir frying broccoli and beef
1 onion, diced
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger

Marinade:
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1tsp salt
a dash of ground white pepper
1 tbsp rice wine
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbps dark soy sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Sauce:
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp dark soy sauce

Thickening agent:
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup chicken stock

Method:
In a mixing bowl, marinade beef with 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 1 tsp salt, ground white pepper, garlic powder, cornstarch, rice wine and soy sauce. Cover and refrigerated at least 30 minutes.

In a small bowl, mix sauce ingredients. Get another small bowl and mix tickening agents: 1 tsp cornstarch and 1/4 cup chicken stock.

In cooking pot, heat to water to boiling. Add 1 tsp salt and broccoli florets. Cook for about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat, drain and rinse in cold water to prevent overcooked. Set aside.

Heat 3 tbsp cooking oil in a wok until its hot. Add marinated beef and stir fry for about 3 minutes or until beef is brown. Remove beef from wok and set aside.

Add 3 tbsp cooking oil in hot wok. Toss in chopped garlic, ginger and onion. Stir about 1 minute. Then add in beef, broccoli and sauce. Stir for another minutes. Last add thickening agent. Stir to mix and thicken the sauce. Remove from the heat. Serve with warm white rice.
