Quick And Easy Football Recipes From My Playbook
I am handing over my playbook so that your home team can make it through game day happy, and so the head coach (Mama) doesn't have to spend all day in the kitchen preparing for the game.
The Game Plan
Easy Game Day Dip
A wonderful and easy football recipe

Football It's Game Day! by ArtisticMind
Game Day Dip is the highlight of football season for both my kids and husband and I love it too of course. It is the most requested meal year round, but I only make it from opening day of college football season to the close of college football bowl season. I think that this treat remains special this way.
I didn't make this treat for the first Georgia Bulldog game this year and judging from my family's reaction I committed a crime. I got a good tongue lashing from my 9 year old.
Easy Game Day Dip
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 jar mild salsa (I use the cheapest)
2 jars of cheese dip (found near salsa)
8 oz. cream cheese
corn or tortilla chips
Optional Ingredients
sour cream
shredded cheese
diced tomatoes
refried beans
guacamole
shredded lettuce
black olives
diced onions
Brown the ground beef in a 2 or 3 quart pot. Drain meat. Add the cheese, salsa, and cream cheese and stir while heating on medium heat. When all is melted and warm serve in a bowl and top with any combination of the optional ingredients that you like. I like sour cream, beans, olives, tomatoes, and shredded cheese on mine and prefer the tortilla chips. We eat this as a meal on game day.
Cheerleader Chili
Perfect for any game day

football cheerleader by shopaholicchick
Cheerleader chili is a favorite meal at my house during football season, especially on a cold day. It's feels so good to cuddle up on the couch and nibble on a bowl of hot chili while watching a football game when the weather gets cooler.
Cheerleader Chili is also very easy so instead of having to slave away in the kitchen I am able to enjoy the game just like the boys. Sometimes I even double the recipe and we nibble on it all weekend.
Cheerleader Chili
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
2 cans Hunts Spaghetti Sauce (any flavor)
2 cans dark red kidney beans
1 can crushed tomatoes
chili powder to taste (I use enough to darken chili)
salt and pepper to taste
Optional Ingredients
sour cream
shredded cheese
diced onion
corn chips
Brown meat and drain. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and cook on medium heat until warm. Season to taste. Serve in a bowl and top with any combination of the optional ingredients.
Touchdown Tacos
Bring a little spice to game day

Football, Touchdown by sportydesigns
Touchdown Tacos are as much of a crowd-pleaser as a touchdown made by your favorite team in the final seconds of a rival game. Yes, they are that good! They are also simple to make and affordable.
My kids love to make their own, but they can be made all at once and served from a platter. Tacos can be a little messy, so when we're all in the living room watching a game and eating I throw a sheet or tablecloth on the floor and we eat on that.
Touchdown Tacos
Ingredients
1 or 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1 can re fried beans
shredded cheese
sour cream
chili powder
1/2 cup salsa
12 taco shells (hard or soft)
Brown meat and add salsa and 2 tablespoons or chili powder and 1/2 of the can of beans. Heat on medium heat until warm. Layer the ingredients in the shells.
1st layer: meat and bean mixture
2nd layer: lettuce
3rd layer: diced tomatoes
4th layer: sour cream (cover the opening if using a hard taco shell)
5th layer: top with shreaded cheese (will stick to sour cream)
Sometimes I add fresh cilantro to the tomatoes
Serve with the remainder of the beans if anyone wants them.
Quarterback Quesadillas
A great play call

Armchair Quarterback Mug by christmasmuggifts
Armchair Quarterbacks, large and small, will love this little treat. It's great for a meal or a snack when chips just aren't enough. These quesadillas are easy to make and affordable.
Be sure that your armchair quarterback can tell the difference between a quesadilla and a football or you might have a mess on your hands.
Quarterback Quesadillas
Ingredients
fahita sized flour tortillas
shredded cheese
can of re fried beans
sour cream
Place a tortilla on a lightly greased griddle or in a skillet (I use Pam Cooking Spray). Sprinkle a layer of cheese on the tortilla, add a layer of beans, then another layer of cheese and top with another tortilla. Cook on medium heat until the tortilla is lightly browned on bottom and then flip/ When the cheese is melted remove from heat and cut each one into 4 wedges. Dip in sour cream.
Great Brat Recipe
My husband loves this recipe and he's adapted it for us.

- Probably the easiest thing I make is meatballs, chili sauce and a small jar of jelly. Throw that all into a crockpot for a few hours and you'll be the hit of the party.
