This is probably the style most associated with platform beds, featuring a simple clean shape and take there lead from European or Japanese styling.
These are often the simplest to build and make, but bare in mind that the style lends itself to mass production and so it may be difficult to make a bed cheaper than it would be to buy one!

Take what you like from other designs as a starting point.
I like the look of this design and the idea of joining two stock sheets together and just cutting out the grooves for air flow seems reasonably simple.
Although the legs and headboard look great would be difficult to replicate.
