My Favorite Easy Set Pool for Summer Fun!

I was looking for something fun for my kids to do during the summer, and I thought "Why not try an Easy-Set pool?"

I had mixed emotions about getting one though, because I was afraid they would be hard to take care of. I did have some experience with a 15' off brand quick set pool a few years ago, and it took a lot of time to maintain. It also sprang a couple of leaks that we had to patch. We didn't have any problems with leaks out of our Intex Easy Set.

I found an Intex easy set 18' pool on sale at a local store, so I decided to go ahead and buy it.

It has been a lot of fun, and I don't regret buying it one bit.

My Favorite Easy Set Pool

This is the best Easy Set brand pool we have tried. We have had experience with one other brand, but this one was the better of the two. It has been the easiest to maintain and has plenty of room for the kids to play and swim. Make sure your yard is very level or you will have problems with it. It works wonderfully in a level spot and will last a long time with proper care and use. Our pool came with the regular pump that you use chlorine with, not the saltwater system. I would really like to have the saltwater system, because I feel it would make the pool even easier to maintain. I added it to my wish list!

This pool does take a while to fill up with water if you use a regular garden hose as we did. The kids got tired of waiting so I let them go ahead and jump in a little early!

Saltwater versus chlorine?

I have used chlorine and chemicals to keep my pool water safe and clean, but I am very interested in upgrading to a saltwater generator. I have heard a lot of good things about it and you don't have to deal with the chlorine. Please let me know which type you think is best by adding your comments here. Thank you!

Regular chlorine is the best...it's all I use!

Saltwater generator, because it is better and easier.

Maintenance of the Pool

The main thing about this pool was to keep the chlorine at the right level, and to shock the pool every week.

Also, I had to keep the skimmer basket clean.

The filter cartridge can be re-used as long as it will rinse clean. When you can no longer rinse it clean with the water hose, then you need to replace it.

I prefer above ground pools like the easy set, because they are cheaper and you aren't stuck with them in your yard forever.

Inground all the way...they are the best!
