When Do I Make My First Batch of Chili?
In the Fall at Halloween!
I usually pull out my chili recipe for Halloween. I pull out my slow cooker and put all the ingredients in early in the mornings. While we are out Trick or Treating, the chili is finishing up cooking. It is ready to warm up us after a cold night Trick or Treating. It is so comforting to have this waiting for us when we return. My Slow Cooker Chili Recipe
Good Ol' Chili
This recipe comes from my Current cookbook called Fix and Forget It. It is a well worn page!Makes 6 to 8 servings

Last-Minute Cooking Time: none
1-1/2 lbs. extra lean Ground Beef
2 or 3 cans (15 oz. each) Pinto Beans, drained

2 teaspoons Salt
1 teaspoon dried Oregano leaves, crushed
1 teaspoon ground Cumin

3. Cover and cook on high for 3-1/2 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours until onion is tender.
