Make Easy Money Selling Collectibles on eBay

I love sell collectibles on eBay! It's not that I have hourds of collectibles to sell, I don't. I started several years ago selling off my childhood doll collection, including original Barbie outfits. It was great...I got unbelieveable prices for things I'd been moving around for all my adult life. And in the process, I became somewhat of an expert in finding outfits for some of the dolls by searching other sellers auctions. Particularly auctions that had generic titles of "doll clothes' or "small doll clothes". But it was key that I was very familiar with the outfits I was looking for and knew what price they would command. I loved selling in this category because, for the most part, the people are so nice, honest and trustworthy. Not always easy to say about some eBayers. I would have bidders tell me information I should include in the description! And, almost always, the winning bidder paid quickly. It's still that way today.

I've moved away from selling doll items, though I didn't have much else around the house that was or is 'collectible'. I began going to garage sales. All kinds of garage sales--big ones, little ones, city ones, farm and ranch ones, in rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoods, and in between. I don't try to be the first one there, sometimes the real bargains are in the leftovers, and you can barter the price. I have found lots of good things to list on eBay in the 'free' pile at yard sales. Once I found a two deck set of President Lyndon B. Johnson playing cards, still sealed in the free pile. The case was dirty, but easily cleaned and I sold them for $78.00! Another time my husband saw four young adult books from the 1940's and 1950's--4 for $1.00. He wanted to read one of them as it reminded him of his youth. Well, that particular one was a first edition and fairly rare. It sold for $110.00! But I've learned about books, they really need to be first editions or hard to find. Sometimes I see something and don't buy it but go home and look to see its popularity on eBay, then go back, and if it's still there, buy it. But that's risky. It's much better to familiarize yourself with three or four collectible categories and search for items within those you know about and feel you can make some money.
You won't get rich, probably, selling collectibles on eBay, but you will have a positive, enjoyable time and meet some really fine folks.

Finally, I have made quite abit of profit selling old postcards! I had a lot of them from my family and also found tons at garage sales...for pennies! These sold for anywhere from a dollar to over ten dollars. And they're so easy to store and ship! It's one of my favorite items to list.
