Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is a chore! At least for me it is. I was pretty excited a year ago when I found out I could create and add my own content on the Internet (who wouln't be?).
As a total "newbie", I thought that building a website and submitting it to a few directories was enough, but the truth is that with billions of websites, blogs and other webpages on the Internet, this is just not enough if you want anyone to be able to find and enjoy your website.
You need a lot of backlinks in order to get traffic to your articles/blogs/Squidoo lenses, and the cheapest way to get backlinks is to submit them to as many social bookmarking websites as possible, but being a member of, say, 20 sites takes a lot out of you if you are going to regularly participate and submit content on each one of them, that leaves you very little time to actually create the content you need to promote.
Easy Social Bookmarking is not another lens telling you that you must be active on the most popular social bookmarking websites; even though this is good advice, I am sure you've heard it all before.
I have created this lens to show you that there is an easier way to bookmark your links; using social bookmarking tools should enable you to save a huge amount of time and no, I am not promoting spamming of theses wonderful sites, I am just helping you to find a way to quickly and easily submit online content to social bookmarking websites; not just your own content, but any content created by others that you think might help other users of these social networks.

I am not complaining about the time I spend researching my topics or writing articles but the time it takes submitting my content and other people's content to various social bookmarking sites which can be unbelievable if you are not using one of the automatic social bookmarking submitters, some of which are free.

You could try and visit a bunch of Social bookmarking websites once a week and go on a submitting rampage of your new articles, blog posts, Squidoo lenses, etc. but trust me, this is a very bad idea as not only the websites' administrators will more than likely end up banning you from their sites, but the users, looking at your profile and seeing that you haven't done much more than self-promotion, will more than likely down-vote your links and leave nasty comments about your sites.
Not only you have to submit your own stuff, but in order not to be seen as a spammer on the social bookmarking websites you are a member of, you also need to participate on them and submit other people's content too. If you list a lot of helpful links that are related to the topics you write about, people might see your links as helpful and add you as a contact on those social bookmarking websites and might even give some of your links a little boost by voting for your links if they like your content.

- Digg is one of the top social bookmarking websites; you can submit your own stories, add friends and vote for other people's stories.
- StumbleUpon
- This is my favorite Bookmarking site, not only because I enjoy the spike of traffic it gives me just after submitting a link, but because the StumbleUpon toolbar makes it very easy to find new stories and blogs to add to my favourites.
- I haven't quite found my way around this one yet, but I'm trying.
- Del.icio.us
- I am a bit bugged about their tagging system: I've just realized that tags containing more than one word should be linked with a dash and not with quotation marks so I need to go back and edit all my bookmarks on Delicious!
- Technorati
- This is a popular one for bloggers but you can also add Squidoo lenses and articles.
- Furl
- Here you can subscribe to other people's links and you can see how many times your links have been viewed; if you submit your own stuff, don't forget to rate it 5 stars (you can rate my stuff too!).
- More social networking than bookmarking but if you find the right groups and applications, you're in the money!
- Mixx
- Yhis is one of the most recent social bookmarking websites I have joined, and so far I have managed to find great stuff there.
- Yahoo My Web
- I just post links here even though I am not sure exactly how it helps me.

- This isn't really a social bookmarking website but since I sometimes use this to blog about interesting articles I've read about making money online.

How to Quickly and Easily Bookmark Online Content
As you probably already know, if you have more than 3 or 4 social bookmarking sites you are a member of, bookmarking just one article on all of these can take the best part of a day, and if you were to do it manually for several articles a day, you would really need to train a monkey to do it for you!Why should you sign up for an account on more than one social bookmarking website? Simply because every time you submit your content to a website, you get a backlink to it, and, as backlinks go, the more the merrier because lots of backlinks get you lots of traffic!
How can you get away from spending all your time online submitting stuff to social bookmarking websites? Luckily there are some automatic social bookmarking tools available online, and even though you still need to spend time registering with each website you want to submit content to, once this is done, all you need is a few minutes every day to submit articles, blog posts, Squidoo lenses, etc.
Here are a few social bookmarking submission tools you can use to make the task of submitting links easier and a lot quicker:
Social Marker - 49 sites
This is the first one I've tried; it makes social bookmarking very easy when it works. Unfortunately, it looks like some sites are starting to block submissions made from Social Marker and it doesn't always work very well, but when it does it is a very cool tool, especially since it is free.
Social Poster - 79 social websites
This free social bookmarking service seems to work much better than the previous one, but whenever your story's details are not already in the correct fields of each social website (it happpens!), you need to go back to the Social Poster page and copy the corresponding field and go to the other site to paste it.
Onlywire.com - 19 websites
I haven't tried this one because it only has 19 websites and not many that are among the most popular ones. I understand as well why it is free. Also, registration is required, unlike the 2 previous sites.
