Do You Know Where to Find Real Data Entry Jobs?

There are so many work at home data entry jobs out there, but few people seem to find the real jobs from the scams. Want a quick list at finding the real ones? Here's your answer.

A Realistic Look At Work At Home Data Entry Jobs

Those jobs are out there, but only if you are realistic.

Imagine what a data entry job will be like. You'll sit for hours in front of a computer, entering, rearranging, or editing data in a database. You might get emails from your boss to update essential data into SalesForce, ACT or even into Quickbooks. You might be asked to collect email addresses, call phone numbers to verify that the numbers are working and accurate, and a variety of other tasks. Your job is to get the data in right the first time. You might have to know Excel, Access and other software programs.

Your day begins with collecting data you need and quickly putting information into the computer in an organized fashion. This sort of job that you can do from home can mean that you may work in pajamas or at night. Sometimes the data may need to be put in right away, so you will need to constantly be at the computer. You may need to be away from distractions, the information has to be right. Some software programs depend on the accuracy of the data you will input. Are you dependable enough to double-check your work?

Data entry jobs are sought out for sometimes the wrong reasons. You have to type fast in order for this sort of work to be profitable for you. You may have to make phone calls. You may have to learn new software. You may have to spend long hours pouring over data to figure out the essential way to put something together in an Excel spreadsheet. Most of these jobs will be low pay, think $10 to $15 an hour if that.

If you are not prepared to do these necessary tasks, and perhaps lots more, you might want to reconsider this job. I tell you this now because you will be required to work, this is not some job where you read something, type in a few letters and hit enter. There are jobs like that, but not many, and not enough work at those jobs to make an income.

Do not be afraid to say if there is a type of data entry job that is not right for you. Data entry jobs vary, and you might not always feel comfortable with the job on the first go. One of my own first data entry jobs had rules that changed every other week, and data had to be re-entered. It was mind numbing and the hours were long. It wasn't right for me, but might be right for someone else.

Working from home is great simply because you can pick another job quickly enough without too much bother. If $10 is not enough for you, you will want to consider another line of work. This is not the sort of job that you will get a lot of chance to increase your pay rate to $25 an hour or more. You may be able to work your way up into the company, but that's not the same as having the same job with increase in pay rates.

This is not a job that will make you rich. Unlike other jobs where you get paid by the hour, you might just be paid by the task. This means you won't be paid when you dawdle and get up to watch Oprah and you might not get paid to talk to the boss. You only get paid per line entered, or per page, whatever the deal is.
