Party favor ideas and party planning inspiration

As a mother of three young children, ages 4, 5 and 9, I used to spend hours searching for fun and unique party favors that my children and their friends could actually use! They would regularly attend parties and bring home small trinkets that usually ended up in the trash after using them once (due to breakage). The cost of these little trinkets can be quite expensive when put together in a favor bag...usually $5 or more.

Since I was already experienced at party planning for adults I decided to apply that skill to finding and creating quality party favors that kids love! The possibilities are endless...one or two quality items wrapped and personalized. No work for mom and the kids get a fun party favor that won't end up in the trash after only one day of use!

At Treasure Box Parties our goal is to provide quality customized party favors at affordable prices for children and adults. Visit www.treasureboxpartiesandgifts.com for all of your party needs.

We have many items to choose from but if you don't find what you are looking for our specialty is custom orders to fit your theme or event. Call us at 650-867-9801 for more information.

Wii Party ideas and favors

Throwing a Nintendo Wii Party is great fun for kids of all ages. There are many different Wii themes that you can choose from...sports, Guitar Hero, Mario, High School Musical, etc. Add some decorations to fit your theme and fun food like Wii shaped cookies and Mii cupcakes and your guests will be impressed!

Entertaining the kids who are waiting to take their turn is important. Have the kids decorate a Wii themed t-shirt. Print images onto iron-on transfer paper, apply to a t-shirt and decorate with fabric markers. Another fun idea is to have the kids create their own Mii using fabric, fabric markers and a little imagination.

Match your party favors to your theme...give a rock themed party favor if you're throwing Guitar Hero party. Wii controller covers filled with treats make a great party favor. The kids can take these home and actually use them!

Tea Party Ideas

Formal or informal, everyone loves a tea party! I have three boys who love having tea with me and their furry friends.

There are so many wonderful ways to have a tea party. You can search for tea rooms in your area and celebrate in a formal setting. Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Mother's Day and Mommy and Me Tea Parties are especially fun at a tea house.

Or, create an elegant atmosphere in your own home. Ask your guests to come dressed in formal attire and set the table with your finest china. Dad could help out as butler for the day. Set the table with flower arrangements in lovely old tea cups. Interesting tea cups can be found at your local antique shop.

Serve petite sandwiches with your favorite fillings. You can mix in some traditional petite sandwiches like cucumber and cream cheese. Most children prefer pb&j, turkey and plain cheese. Include scones with jam & cream, petits fours, dipped strawberries and other fruit for dessert. Experiment with different kinds of tea...English Breakfast, Herbal Teas, etc. I have found that children enjoy mild teas like Chamomile, English Breakfast and Rasberry Tea. Don't forget the sugar cubes!

Birthday parties are especially fun when incorporating a tea party into the theme. Children love fairy princess tea parties, butterfly tea parties, teddy bear tea parties, royal tea parties, under the sea tea parties, garden tea parties, diva tea parties, fashion tea parties, furry friend tea parties. Keep the kids engaged by mixing traditional tea party etiquette with fun games and crafts. Play dress-up, have a treasure hunt and create a fun craft like decorate a bonnet or crown, decorate a purse or create beautiful jewelry.

Party favors should fit the theme of your tea party. For a fairy princess or royal tea party the girls could receive a fairy set and the boys could receive a shield and sword set. For a formal tea party you could give the children their own tea set.
