What is Small Animal Massage (SAM)?
SAM is the manipulation of all the soft tissues of the body, which increases and circulates revitalized blood to all systems, organs and tissues in your pet's body. Their health depends on this movement of fluids circulating throughout the body. Cells require fresh nutrients, water and oxygen to replace toxins and wastes that build up in muscles and tissues.
Toxins are naturally occurring by-products within the body. SAM is an effective way of keeping fluids moving, which flushes these toxins and assists your pet's immune system in maintaining a balance to protect against infection and disease.
Why should your pet receive a Massage?
- (SAM) promotes a caring touch that increases relaxation and rejuvenation of muscles and relieves stress.
- Physical Therapy rehabilitation is enhanced.
- Helps reduce inflammation and swelling in joints and decreases chronic pain.
- Enhances athletic performance and helps prevent sport injuries.
- Increases comfort levels in older animals by alleviating chronic pain and stiffness associated with arthritis.
- Promotes increased circulation, movement of body fluids and elimination of toxins.
- Increases oxygenation and nutrition to muscles and tissues.
- Muscular/Skeleton system maintains optimum levels.
- Endorphins, the body's natural pain killers, are released.
- Loosens and softens scar tissue.
- Helps prevent atrophy in inactive muscles.
- Promotes overall well being for your pet.

- Accepted treatment by the American Veterinary Association.
- Animals that have experienced abuse may become more comfortable with touch and can be more trusting.
- Massage therapy does not take the place of proper veterinary care. Please consult your veterinarian for any persistent health problems bothering your pet.
- Animal massage is one of the most important growing fields concerning animal health care and well-being. The massage program for muscle preparation and recovery are just as important as nutrition and training programs for the animal athletics.
- Bone Fractures - massage can be of assistance in speeding up healing through increased circulation after the fracture has begun to heal.
- Sports massage for training or recovery from over exertion during sporting events.
