It's a rite of passage for every child, learning to ride their bicycle without training wheels. Teaching a child to ride can often come with a variety of scraped knees and tears but that doesn't need to be the case. So, just what is The Easiest Way To Learn To Ride a Bike? There are easy to master methods that will help your child get on the road to riding that will make the process easy and fun and best of all, safe.
Getting Started
Why Can't I Ride My Bike?
For a child who has been exclusively riding with training wheels or on a tricycle there only concern on a bike was pedalling to get going, now factor in learning to balance and the confusion sets in. Children and beginning adults will have to work hard to get the proper balance that will make them feel comfortable and secure while riding. It's the same challenge faced by anyone learning to use inline skates or skateboards or snowboards. On a bicycle pedalling and steering are easily managed in most cases, but it can be much more difficult to master and maintain a proper balance, though once it's achieved the ease of cycling will have all riders eager to get on the road. Now We're Rolling!
Getting Your Balance
In order to get the balance figured out, it's easiest to take away or simplify the other elements of riding. It will be easier for the student rider if they don't have to worry about pedalling. Obstacles can also act as distractions for the rider, trees or shrubs, even structures or fences can be intimidating for the learning cyclist.Once you have identified a safe area to learn to ride, it's easy to focus on the act of removing pedalling. There are a couple of ways to take pedalling out of the equation. You can get the bike moving by pushing and running along side of it or what I found to be an exceptional learning aid was to find a small hill or slight incline that the rider can coast down. This worked wonders for me and my son. At the soccer field at a local school, there was a slight hill that eased to the playing surface so it was perfect. There was enough slope to get rolling without pushing and it was a grass surface so if he went down there wouldn't be any road rash. Each trip down the slope resulted in another 30 to 50 feet he would go encorporating more pedalling each time. Within 5 attempts we had successfully made it across the entire soccer field and have never looked back!
On The Road!
The Wheels On The Bike Go Round And Round

Make sure that the bicycle your child is riding has been properly sized for them and that they are comfortable with how the bike works for steering and braking. Also make sure they are properly outfitted with an approved helmet. I hope that this is the easiest way to learn to ride a bicycle and here's to many years of safe and fun cycling! For more information Click Here!
