Easy to Follow Woodworking Plans

It wasn't long ago that I thought building our own furniture was totally out of the question. I thought this should be left up to the professional woodworkers.

After going through sticker shock from looking at furniture that we really wanted and needed for our kids, I decided to search for easy to follow woodworking plans

I knew woodworking wasn't my husband's cup of tea, so I had to convince him that this would and could be painless. (Except the part where he hits his thumb with the hammer half a dozen times)

Easy to Follow Woodworking Plans Make a Difference

If your plans are to make furniture that you are going to use on a regular basis, the furniture needs to hold up. You don't want to just start slapping boards together hoping it ends up looking like something.

The goal is to build a piece of furniture that meets your criteria, looks like you bought it from a store, and saves you money in the process.

Woodworking Plans Need to Have What You Need

Take the time to look for plans that you understand and have all of the information you are looking for. Are you looking for a bed, chair or bookshelf plan? Be sure the plans you get have several different plans for you to choose from.

Your mind might change after seeing other plans. Once you've made up your mind to build your own furniture, you certainly don't want to ruin it by getting plans that you can't or won't use.

Easy to Follow Woodworking Plans Make for Great Family Time

The best thing about building our own furniture is it gave my kids time with their dad. My kids were so proud of the work they had done, and my husband actually remained sane throughout the process.

He said he had to admit the woodworking plans helped it go smoothly. Especially when you are working with kids by your side, you really don't have time to sit and think about what your next step should be. Make it simple, make it fun, make it worth doing again and again.

Woodworking Plans have to fit with the person who is doing the building. My thought is buy ones that give you plenty of ideas, are simple and easy to understand. I don't care if your kids can do them, the easier the better. They need to be step by step and have great diagrams. It has been working for us
