Tole Painting - Decorative Painting - Roses and Rosebuds
Tole painting is a systematic way of painting. It is taught by learning to do certain brushstrokes and applying them to patterns. A basic stroke is shown in Brushes and Palette's website - Tole Painting - (see below). Patterns can be found in many tole painting books. No previous art experience is needed to learn.
The history of tole painting traces back to the folk art painting of many different countries. Today, decorative painting includes a variety of styles and materials to decorate furniture and accessories.

Free online painting instructions for basic rosebuds. Step by step directions using acrylic paints. This is a design that can be used for many decorative items - wood plaques and other wood items and it can be painted on cards for Birthday Greetings and other special Greeting Cards.

Make your Own Birthday Greetings
Decorate with tole rosebuds - A Decorative Painting Design
To create your own birthday greetings cards, go to your copy center and choose the card stock suitable for your needs and have it cut by them to your desired size. Use acrylic paints for painting on the card stock. Easy Envelopes to Make for your Birthday Greetings
ENVELOPE IDEA NO. 1This envelope is for a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 greeting card.
You will need an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of paper and a glue stick.
Step 1 - Cut off 1-1/2" of one long edge so you are working with a 7" x 11" sheet of paper.
Step 2 - Fold in the long edges 1/4"
Step 3 - Measure 4-1/4" from the bottom edge. Turn up the bottom edge 4-1/4".
Glue the edges, forming the pocket for the card. Also, glue the folded
side edges of the top 2-1/2" so the flap lays flat.
Step 4 - Measure 2" from the top. Fold down the top 2".
ENVELOPE IDEA NO. 2.
If you have an envelope that is the size you want to make, open out the envelope. Lay it on a piece of paper and trace around. Cut it out, fold and glue.
