The term "Junk Food" encorporates such a wide range of food these days, since so many different types of food are made in so many different tastes and varieties.

Basically speaking, junk food includes food that has a lot of added sugar, and has had most of its nutrients removed. For example, white bread is white because it had been refined to the point where it has very little fibre or nutrients left. It is mostly just pure carbohydrate.

Sweet foods such as chocolate are bad because they are so high in sugar. Foods high in sugar will upset your blood sugar level, causing unstable moods and weight gain. Sugar also rots your teeth. Also, did you know that each time you consume sugar, you use up your body's store of B-vitamins?

People who eat a lot of junk food like this often find it hard to lose weight.
