Choosing Food over Stimulants

It seems that the go to energy source for today's generation is that of stimulants rather than wholesome food that gives you energy. It is my juncture to say that this is so because our generation is so caught up in the rat race, looking to get from Point A to Point B in the quickest fashion while neglecting everything else that really matters.

This is unfortunate; however, people don't understand that when you need real energy, stimulants are not the way to go when you are looking to sustain throughout the day. Coffee, energy drinks, sugar, and the other quick consuming stimulating foods are actually doing the opposite to what one may think. Rather than providing a long lasting source of energy throughout the day, these stimulants are leaving the body fatigued and in constant need for more energy. When stimulants wear off, they interrupt the adrenal glands, which in turn interrupt the levels of blood sugar. This leads to what we know as the 'crash'. In this state, the mind is low, the body is low, and the only thing that people feel can pick it back up, so seems the case, is another stimulant. This leads to the same outcome and the same situation over and over again.

I have been a victim of such actions. It was convenient to jump to the first energy drink I could find just to get by. It wasn't until I discovered that it wasn't all that hard to clean up the diet with food that gives you energy. I began to concentrate on simple, quick, raw food diet changes that instantly gave me the long sustained energy I was always looking for. When raw foods are consumed, you present your body with energy directly from the source - the sun. In abundance, the sun provides energy that is sustaining and doesn't let you down like the other manufactured stimulants. Change is not hard, and you are worth it, your health is worth it, let's eat right.
