eBay Sellers: Learn how to use the eBay Affiliate Program and Set Up a Domain Name for your eBay Business

The eBay Affiliate Program is a great way for eBay sellers to maximize their revenue and get paid a little extra for the work they do bringing buyers to eBay through their listings. If you're an eBay seller, this page and the eBay Seller Affiliate eBook will help you learn how to get signed up, create affiliate-coded links to your listings, and find places to use those links.

Due to the eBay Affiliate Program's recent move from Commission Junction to the eBay Partner Network, this information is outdated and inaccurate. Look for updated information coming soon!

Learn How to Become an eBay Affiliate

Simple Step-By-Step Instructions with Screenshots

eBay Seller Affiliate eBook: Learn How to Become an eBay AffiliateIf you're not already an experienced affiliate marketer, the Commission Junction application and link-building tools may be intimidating. The eBay Seller Affiliate eBook avoids all the technobabble you may have seen before. The instructions are in plain English, with plenty of screen shots of the application, the Commission Junction website, and the affiliate link tools.

The same level of detail and easy directions are included for choosing a domain name, getting it registered, and redirecting it to your eBay listings. By the end of the book, you'll have your own URL that forwards to your eBay store or items for sale, with the affiliate code built right in.

The information and step-by-step instructions in the book assume that you're already a US-based eBay seller and that you have no experience with this or any other affiliate program. You won't need to know how to use HTML or do any web design.

If you can cut and paste, you can follow these instructions.

How the eBay Affiliate Program Works for You

Get Paid for All the Work You Do for Your eBay Business

An affiliate program is an agreement between a company (eBay, in this case) and an affiliate (you), where the affiliate advertises the company's products or site, and the merchant pays a commission for sales that come from a customer making a purchase through the affiliate's link.

In other words, when you use your own promotion to bring buyers to your listings, eBay earns fees on your sales. Because eBay makes more fees when you bring in more sales, it benefits eBay for you to bring buyers to your listings, so they are willing to pay you a portion of their fees for your trouble. You make a sale, eBay earns some fees, and eBay thanks you with a commission.

Until recently, the terms of the eBay Affiliate Program prohibited sellers from earning commissions on their own listings. Now that the program has been opened to sellers, it makes more sense than ever to become a member of the program.

Besides earning commissions on your own sales when you use the affiliate program, you'll also earn on other sellers' sales if the buyer came to eBay from your link. This means that any work you do to bring buyers to your listings - answering buyer questions, including promotional items in your packages, creating Squidoo lenses - will pay off more than ever before.

Get a Domain Name Forwarded to Your eBay Listings

Get more repeat buyers and increase your affiliate commissions

Getting a domain name that links to your eBay store or items for sale page is one of the easiest things you can do to grow your eBay business. It only costs about $10 a year, and you can set it up in minutes and forget it.

Your own eBay domain name will help bring more repeat buyers and increase your affiliate commissions, and the eBay Seller Affiliate eBook will show you exactly how. The book will walk you through everything you need to do to set it up.

A Stepping Stone to Your Own e-Commerce Website

Get ready now to set up your St. Elsewhere site later

If you're planning or hoping to sell from your own website eventually, getting a domain name now is even more valuable. You'll be making sure that the name you want to use is reserved for you, and you'll begin to train your regular buyers to find you there. Your repeat buyers will automatically follow you to your off-eBay store if they're already visiting your eBay store by typing in your domain name.

Instructions and Support Just for eBay Sellers

The eBook is designed specifically for eBay sellers, so you'll have all the information you need, without any of the confusion that comes from other help sources that are meant for affiliate marketers. If you purchase the eBay Seller Affiliate eBook and get stuck, I'll be available to answer questions. The instructions are detailed and uncomplicated, but if you do hit a snag you'll have support.

There are lots of resources for learning about selling on eBay and about using the eBay Affiliate Program, but few address the specific questions and concerns of combining the two. I have been selling for a couple years and using the affiliate program successfully for almost a year, and I often encounter other sellers who have an interest in making affiliate income a part of their business but don't know where to start. Beginning the process may seem intimidating, but the program is simple to use and, in my experience, well worth the effort.

Are you thinking that you don't have the computer smarts to be able to do this?

This eBook was written with you in mind. The instructions don't require any affiliate marketing, HTML, or web design skills. If you can cut and paste, you can do this.

I too have been Ebaying since 2004. We went the vintage route and although we were successful, ran out of products and money and went back to the real world--yuck. Now, we're looking to go back. Your lens is very helpful and informative. I'll be checking for updates and have favorited it. 5 stars!!!! If you're surfing, check out my lenses. Thanks!
