Hi and welcome to my Crafty little Lens about eBay Needlecrafts!
I opened Sara's Texture Crafts for business back in January 2007 and already sell to a worldwide customer base through eBay. My ethos is to supply like-minded people with kits and equipment to create their own textile based creations.
You can find my store at stores.ebay.co.uk/Saras-Texture-Crafts or join me on my website at www.SarasTextureCrafts.fusiveweb.co.uk where I have my own gallery of work.
My eBay products include;
Sara's Texture Packs - inspirational swatches of fabric, threads and trims to create your own textured textile pieces...Sara's Crafty Packs - simple kits for beginners and those more advanced...Scrap fabric packs - for use in small-scale weaves, embroidery and machine work...Fabric packs - from fat quarters and half metres to full metre lengths...Handmade Greeting Cards...Cross stitch, embroidery, tapestry and other needlecraft kits and equipment...3-D machine or hand embroidery kits...Beading and jewellery making kits...Knitting and crochet kits...Yarns and threads...Feltmaking and papermaking fibres and kits...CDs for decoupage, decal or fabric printing...Computer printable fabrics and decal sheets (A4).
It was back in March 2007 when Squidoo came to my attention, during a search for on-line advertising opportunities. I wasn't sure what Squidoo was at first. I found myself a bit confused about what a 'lens' was and how it could benefit my business and my customers.
Over the last few months I have had a few moments here and there to look into it further and Squidoo seems like a nice place, people seem genuinely helpful and incitive. So here I am giving it a go!
The aim of my lens is to show you a few of my products under the eBay module below and bring to you some other items that I have found on the web, which could be useful in your crafts. Apart from all this shameless plugging I would like this to be a place where you can take part in my guide to buying and selling on eBay.

Fetching new data from eBay now... please stand bySo what is eBay and why should I use it?
A brief introduction
eBay was originally a US (www.ebay.com) based auction site for sellers of all kinds to sell new and secondhand items. Since then eBay has now become a worldwide forum, with sites as in the UK (www.ebay.co.uk) and other countries. eBay is a great place for buying and selling almost anything, from cars and iPods to craft kits and clothing. eBay offer secure on-line shopping with Paypal. To find out more scroll down the page a little, as I have explained Paypal further. It is very easy to use and offers you several ways to search for your purchases:
1 - By catagory.
2 - By Seller.
3 - Keywords. Type in a single word, for example 'craft kit' and eBay will show you everything with that word in the title. Beware though, keywords should be as specific as you can make them, otherwise searches could come up with hundreds of items to look through. So if you want a craft kit by Anchor, type 'Anchor kit'.
Once you have your list of products you can further define your search, by:
1 - view the list as ending soon.
2 - view the list as recently listed.
3 - view the list as highest price.
4 - view the list as lowest price.
5 - view the list as condition as new.
6 - view the list as condition as used.
7 - view the list as distance from you.
8 - cut down the list by selecting items for auction only.
9 - cut down the list by selecting items for buy it now.
10 - cut down the list by selecting a catagory of matching items.
11 - scroll down the page and see the buy it now options from sellers (they often have items in store, which will not come up in the main search - so explore!)
Please scroll down the page as I have lots of other eBay information to share with you...
Paypal? What is Paypal?
I have always found Paypal easy to use as both a seller and a customer of on-line stores. As a payment system it's popularity is growing day by day and is widely used on both larger forums, such as Boots, eBay, Etsy and DaWanda to smaller business websites. I would recommend Paypal as a quick and reliable banking system.Paypal describe their service as (direct quote)
Founded in 1998, PayPal enables any business or consumer with an email address to securely, conveniently and cost-effectively send and receive payments online. Our network builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards to create a global, real-time payment solution.
PayPal has quickly become the leading payment network for online auction websites, including eBay. With over 100 million account members worldwide PayPal is also being increasingly used at other e-commerce sites. Users can send payments for free via their PCs or web-enabled mobile phones.
