Why start a home business?

Benefits of a Home Business
By: Marlo Boux, Small Business Coach

There are so many benefits to working from home! Whether you become a consultant with a lucrative and reputable company, or your start your own venture from scratch, you will LOVE working from home.

The Benefits:

* Being home with your children to provide them with that sense of security, love and consistency they need

* The ability to make your own business decisions and a sense of real responsibility and ownership over your business

* You are the boss of your own schedule - you work when it fits your lifestyle and body clock

* Write-offs, write-offs, write-offs! Whether you are a sole-proprietor, involved in a partnership, or own a corporation, there are many expenses that you can claim against your personal income or your company such as car expenses, house utilities, childcare expenses, supplies, business-related meals at restaurants, and even interest incurred on your credit card from business expenses-contact your local tax center for details

* No long and stressful commute to work - not to mention that you will save wear and tear on your car, save on gasoline and possibly even save with lower car insurance rates

* You will save money on business attire and those costly coffee breaks and lunches out with co-workers that can add up to the dreaded 'latte factor' where you see your hard earned money dwindled away each month

* Reduction or elimination of childcare expenses - say goodbye to the days where 40% or more of your income was eaten by childcare costs!

* Contentment in realizing your dream of living out biblical values in both your family life AND your business life

Some Things to Keep in Mind:

* Donald Trump once said that if he had one piece of advice for entrepreneurs it would be to do what you absolutely love doing. In other words, don't settle! Take the time to investigate companies or find a niche you would love to service as a business owner. If you aren't excited about the product or service you are selling, no one else will be either

* Are you able to reach your target market in a cost-effective and efficient manner? If you have a great product but no easy way to tell people about it, you need to find a way to make it happen or move on to something else

* Are there ways you can automate your business to create residual streams of income so your business is working for you even when you aren't? Online stores and affiliate programs are great sources of residual income

* If you wish to work as a rep for a company, investigate them and speak to others who work for the company to ensure it delivers on its promises and is otherwise operated with integrity

* Is the business actually profitable? There are so many home businesses out there that talk big and fall flat on delivery. Is your business going to be profitable? Don't just factor in the cost of supplies, factor in your time! Your time is valuable! Make it worth your while.

* Is there a way you can set yourself apart from your competitors? Is the market you are targeting saturated?

May God bless with you with discernment, wisdom, prosperity, fulfillment and joy in your business!

Sincerely,

Marlo Boux, B.A. Soc

1. How to start promoting your products?
You can see the Getting Started section on the main page after you log-in.
Generally, you should choose some banners and links, and place them onto your pages. When your visitor clicks on a banner, he will be redirected to our page. If this visitor buys something, you will be rewarded with a commission for this sale.

2. How do I know I will be paid for my referral?
The program is powered by Post Affiliate Pro, the leading affiliate tracking software. Post Affiliate Pro uses combination of cookies and IP address to track referrals for best possible reliability. When the visitor follows your affiliate link to our site, our affiliate system registers this referral and places cookie on his or her computer. When the visitor pays for the product, affiliate system checks for cookie (if not found, checks for IP address of referral) and credits your account with commission.
This process is absolutely automatic. All your referrals will be properly tracked.

Post Affiliate Pro is used by thousands of Internet merchants and affiliates world-wide.

3. How is the payment handled?
You can choose if you want to be paid by PayPal or by wire transfer, as well as minimum payout value ($100 minimum). We do not support regular checks at the moment.
Payments are issues in US dollars, and are paid once a month, always on 15th.

4. What is the affiliate link?
Affiliate link is a special URL where you should be sending the visitors. You will get the URL's for different banners in your affiliate panel after log in.

5. Can I promote you through pay-per-click search engines?
YES! You can promote us through pay-per-click search engines. In fact, this type of promotion becomes increasingly popular and we are aware of several affiliates promoting our products in this way and making a very good profit. (Well, they keep promoting us month after month, which tells you something, doesn't it?) If you are not familiar with with type of promotion, we recommend this excellent ebook. Some people are making MILLIONS promoting other people's products - why not you?

6. Do you have any training program for affiliates?
The basics of affiliate marketing and most useful tips are described in your affiliate panel. You can find new tips and techniques also in our affiliate newsletter.

Sage Jewels

Jewelry Tuesday - Sage Jewels

I want to introduce Lisa Marie Glover, Designer of Sage Jewels.

What inspired you to start creating jewelry?

While serving as the first African American female Transportation Planning Manager for Henry County Georgia and walking with my best friend/college roommate from breast cancer patient to survivor, I started to look for an creative outlet. As a child my mother made jewelry designs and sold them at flea markets, so I was familiar with the craft.

As I a started designing pieces, I realized that this outlet let me turn off the voices of everything in my head. It helped me to become more relaxed and I slept better at night. So as people began to ask me about purchasing my pieces, Sage Jewels was born.

How long have you been making money selling your jewelry designs?

I am now entering in to my 4th year selling my jewelry designs. I really enjoy it and currently investigating online selling opportunities.

Is jewelry designing your only business? No, I also have a transportation planning consultancy firm

Do you ever get in a slump in your creativity? Sometimes, but very rare. If I am focused on a deliverable for one of my transportation projects, I generally put my designing on hold. This is my stress therapy without the doctor.

What do you do to get out of it? Making jewelry helps me to turn off the other voices in my head, be it from serving as President of my Homeowners Association, being Corresponding Secretary for my sorority chapter, to a project with my transportation consultancy. When you are creating and beading your focus is on getting the bead on the string and creating something beautiful. This is stress therapy for me.

How do you sell your designs? I sell my Sage Jewels through friends and repeat customers and wearing them and I do home parties and presentations.

Do you have a blog? No

Do you have a website? Yes

What is the name of your website? Sage Jewels - for those with an astute taste in jewelry designs
http://www.sagejewels.net

Where do you advertise other than your website and blog? I post my designs on all Social Networks I belong to, along with Myspace and FaceBook. My designs are also sold at Arts Clayton Gallery in Jonesboro, Georgia. I also contribute to various non-profit silent auctions locally and nationally.

What are your future plans? Sage Jewels is a part of my retirement program. It is my goal to design and create jewelry after retiring from my professional career. I am working to get my designs in boutique stores and online boutiques. I am also working to get some into film projects and in print, preferably worn by some celebrities.
