And The Winner Is!

This was such a fun contest! All of the entries we received were very good but we can only have one logo, so we had to narrow the field. The judges votes, as well as the community vote, was considered when selecting the finalists. And then the community voted for the winner.

I am pleased to announce that the Winner is Squidee from faerydae

Faerydae will receive $1,000 in Squid Offers and the Presentation Package Set from A Well Dressed Bullet. Congratulations Faerydae!

Oh, in case you were concerned, don't worry about Squid Dude. He will find a place somewhere in our community. Thanks to everyone who participated.

Contest Rules and Details

wOOt! We Are Having a Contest.

Okay here are the contest rules and all of the details for the eBay Squidoo Logo Contest. Please make sure to read them all before submitting your entry.
  • User submission must include the eBay Logo and a squid. The squid can be any color you choose and the eBay logo must include the registered trademark symbol.

  • The phrase associated with the logo should be "I'm an eBay Seller" the word eBay can be replaced by the eBay logo, like in the current logo.

  • The image should be at least 200 x 200 pixels.

  • You can do anything you want. You can do a variation of the existing squid or start from scratch. You have the freedom to do anything you would like. You can submit as many versions as you would like until the deadline.

  • Each design must be an original design.

  • Logo submissions will be accepted beginning today 8-2-07 until midnight, Weds. 8-8-07. Please submit your entry to the eBay Store Squid Hangout in the SquidU Forum or email them to me at rksmythe at yahoo dot com

  • Winning entry becomes the property of Squidoo.com

There will be three Judges for the Contest:

eBay Squidooers - Your vote counts too! This logo will represent the eBay Seller on Squidoo Community on lenses, websites, blogs, coffee cups, t-shirts, etc. So make your vote count!

Contest Timeline!

You will have ample opportunity to submit and to vote.

Since this logo will be the symbol of the eBay Squidoo community, I wanted to provide ample time to select the best submission. The timeline for submissions and votes is as follows:

  • The deadline for logo submissions is midnight on the 8th of August. At that time the Flickr module below will turn into a Flickr Plexo to allow for voting.

  • From August 9th to August 15th, community members will be able to vote for their favorites. You can vote one time for each of your favorites.

  • On August 16th your 3 judges will select the 3 finalists from the top 6 vote getters. Finalists will each receive $500 in Squid Offers (Each Squid offer runs 4 weeks for $100, so if you win, you get 5 separate Squid offers.)

  • The community will vote for the winner. On August 22nd the top vote getter will be declared the winner and will receive an additional $500 in Squid offers for a total of $1000 in squid offers)

  • We hope to have the winning logo added to the community header by the end of August.

  • If you are wondering what a Squid Offer is, they are the links you see on the right sidebar of each lens and can link to your lens, blog, website, eBay store or other webstore, which ever you choose. Here is some more info on Squid Offers.

The second and third place runners up will also receive a Promotional Pen Set

The Promotional Pen Set consists of two full size Bullet Pens; one retractable and one non-retractable.

The winner will also receive the Presentation Package Set

The Presentation Package Set includes two full size Bullet Pens; one retractable and one non-retractable in a black plastic case which is felt-lined in light grey.
