An alternative site to Ebay

I was recently burned by Ebay for selling and emailing customers their ebook. In fighting with Ebay, I started looking for a similar site to sell from. the little bit I make on Ebay is the only thing that keeps me from going into debt. I discovered this new little site that is amazing, that I can't help telling everyone about it. To me, it's like an answered miracle.

www.BIDLOADZ.com

Think about everything you hate about Ebay.
Are you thinking?
Do you need more time to finish the things I hate about ebay list?

1. No fees.
Say what! Yes, its true. There are no fees associated with this site. And if you think that this site must be buried in adds, than think again. Thsy only have one Ad Banner from Ad Sense in the far bottom left corner. Nothing else. No annoying pop ups or misdirecting links. The owners of this site are paying for this out of pocket. There isn't even a donation link that I could find. And I looked hard for it because what I save in fees over Ebay, I would donate $20 a month to keep Bidloadz up and running.
No buying fees
No selling fees
No store fees
Buyers, no seller fees means lower prices. Buyers, did you know that if you sell a $0.50 item on Ebay that they get a $0.10 listing fee. Then they take, depending on the item being sold, a final value fee of 8-15%. Add in paypal fees, for a $0.50 item (I hope you have the micropayment system, ) $0.05 for a transactopn fee and then 5% as a value fee. Mere pennies fall into the sellers pocket. If you aren't using paypal micropayment system, its a $0.30 transaction fee plus 2.9% value fee on the total income. That means we are charged for accepting shipping payments. It makes me wonder how penny acutions make any money at all. (Ebay owns Paypal or is it the other way around? Either way, together, they have quite a racket going).

2. No limits.
There are no limits to how much you can buy or sell like Ebay does for first time sellers. This is perfect for first time sellers. And since items are uploaded to the site upon listing, buyers feel secure.

3. No Verification Needed to buy or sell.
If you have a paypal account, you are ready to buy and sell. There is a way to buy pass Paypal and accept payments mailed to you but I didn't set up this option. I take only paypal.

4. Shopping cart.
On Ebay, you have to pay for each seller individually. Figure out shipping rates and discounts. Here, everything is set in stone. No shipping fees. No discounts for buying multiple items from a single seller. Even better, all prices can be converted to your desired currency with a simple click. I hate that ebay will put item prices in your currency but not shipping. Seriously, who buys an item bases on the bid without looking at the shipping cost. If you are biding on an auction, you are notified when it is over and then pay. If you are buying multiple items, you committ to buy, items are sent to a shopping cart, and you make a single trip through the check out line. At the register you put in your pin (Paypal password) and do one mass payment. The cashier thanks you and asks if need to check the atm balance or be directed back to the pick up counter.(You are asked if you want see your paypal account or be directed back to the site.) One back at the store front, scroll down to itenms won and they are ready and waiting for pickup. I love speedy service. There is no need to log into paypal a dozen times. With the shopping cart, you can get everything you want at once and it saves time.

5. What if I don't receive my item?
that isn't a problem here. See, when you creat a listing, you upload the item onto the site. They store it for as long as the listing is good for. So once an item is paid for, you go back to the home page and on the left hand side is a link under the bidding subtitle labeled Won items. Go there and you can download your items immediately. No need to verify payment sent. No waiting for the seller to send you the item.
I guess it is possible for the wrong item to be uploaded but I have yet to encounter that. But you can contact the seller and leave them Comments and rateings. (Compared to Ebays Feedback) If that didn't work, could immediately open a claim with Paypal since you know immediately after payment is sent if something is wrong.

6. Listing Options.
Well , no fees is a start. How about low/zero upkeep. that's right. You have many options to you. You can list an auction, set a starting bid and a time frame and leave it alone. They have the standare ebay auction or a Duch auction available. a duch auction allows buyers to place a bid on multiple items.
Or my favorite, the BUY OUT. (Ebay's Buy it now) You can combine the Buy Out option with the Dutch style and list for sale 99,999 of one item. What could possibly make this better? How about the fact that you can start the listing any time you want for no fees and you can end it when you want for ne fees. I chose to start the auction now and gave it a custom end date. My Buy Out listings will end Dec. 31, 2012. That's right 2012. That's what I call relaxing and letting the money roll in.

7.Variety
They don't just allow ebooks to be sold here, but any and all downloadable items can be bought/sold here.Ebooks, audiobooks, software, manuals, graphics, pictures, and more in easy to find categories.

8. No Ebay Nazi lookalikes removing listing and suspending accounts for an unknowning mistake.

The only problem I have with this site is that it is new and very small. the selection is limited and most categories are empty. I am not affilated with this site in any way other than I buy and sell here and I'm not being paid to write this. It is my honest opnion. I was burned on Ebay because their unfair policies that make then richer when us little people are selling our belonging at a fraction of the cost struggling to make ends meet. This site I thing inspires creativity. Write you own song and sell it. Did you take a really cool picture and want to share it? You can with no out of pocket cost. Did you write your own ebook and having a hard time selling it?

So please visit this site and look around. If you see the potential I do, then please register. Start selling your items. Start buying. Visit me. My store may be small but I'm not done. (I alone could probably triple there current inventory when done.)

Shame on you Ebay

My Store Front - take that Ebay :PI am a recent College Graduate with a mountain of student loans that need to be paid and I am having difficutly find a new job after the business I worked for went bankrupt.

After searching the Internet for something, anything, that I could do to help make ends meet, I came across Ebooks and Resale rights. I thought wow, that is amazing. Now, I'm not looking to make thousands, just enough to pay my bills and put a few dollars in my sad little savings account. I don't have any credit cards. I don't even have a checking account or atm card.

So, I purchased a few of these ebooks off Ebay. I paid for them and they were emailed directly to me. I then did what any normal person would do. I listed them immediately on Ebay at prices lower than other sellers. As I said, I was just looking for a way to make ends meet. I copied other sellers listing and used them as my own to get started quickly. I really needed the money. So in 30 days, I made $150 after all fees and costs.

Not bad for the first month and only 20 ebooks to sell. I made listing, items sold, and emailed the books just like I was when I first decided to do this. then the unthinkable happens. Ebay suspends my account for eletronically sending ebooks to my customers and for listing ebooks in the "book" category.

Now for those of you who don't know how to copy anothers listing, you find one you like nd scollto the bottom of the page. There is a link that says "Sell One Like This". Left click on it and open it in a new window. By doing this you are using that sellers categories and settins for your own listing. Then you just cut and paste the listing and you are good to go.

So I get suspended because my listing violated ebays policy. Yet the seller I copied from, a power seller, still has his account. And there are millions that violate ebay policy and they pick me and my measly $150 profit. Why not the power sellers? Ebay is making a fortune off the fees. Why would they shut them down? No they choose to make examples off the little guys. See I knew that ebay had a special policy for ebooks. I hunted for that perfect listing, a power seller with great rating. I thought that if this sellers listing is OK and they had these great huge feedback numbers, that they must be compling with ebay or they wouldn't have these great feedback scores. Boy was I wrong.

After being suspended, I hunted on the internet to understad what exactly was wrong with my listing when I stumbled across a link to this website.

It is small but has so much potential if only it could get the traffic like ebay does. It is perfect for buyers and sellers of ebooks. I think if more people knew about this, there would be a mass exodus from Ebay to this site. It has the potential to be as big as Ebay.

Here Is How Bidloadz.com Works

Nice Layout and Look at those BIG Buttons along the Top

This is what the home page looks like. It is really very simple and self explanatory. I will now take you through the registration process.

Registration is So Simple. Why can't they all be like this?

FYI: In this picture you see their single Google Ad Banner. It's always located here, under the important links, in a bottom corner. And the White bar splitting the picture is becasue the whole web page couldn't fit on the screen at one. i edited two pictures together to give you a full view. One page registeration and it only took 2 screen lenghts to reach the bottom. Very simple and to the point.

You can either registar as a business or an Individual. I chose Individual. Then just fill in the basic information.
Name
Address
Phone Number
Date of Birth

Next, they want your email. (I have never received an email from them unless I listed an item, sold an item, or being sent an invoice for an item I bought.) No junk mail or unwanted emails. Ah, a truely perfect site.

Now you get to choose a user name and Password. Not difficult.

They ask for you Paypal address. Yes, that is correct. They use paypal. No credit cards, no bank accounts, no extra verification processes. No Nothing.

Read the Terms of Agreement and your done. That's it. Now you can buy and sell.

Now Your Ready to Shop

Buying is easier than registering. Right now the site doesn't have a lot of seller or traffic. I would like to change that. I am looking to make money. But I also want other to join and promote this. I want sales. I want traffic. I love ebooks and audiobooks. I've read my ebooks and need new material.

Ok, on to buying.

Your at the main page and have already login. You can either look down the menu on the left side of the screen and select a category or because there isn't musch listed now, or use the browse menu under the BIg Buttons on the top row. I have seleced ebooks from the drop down menu. Now I can see all ebooks listed for sale.

Many of these books have the BUY Out option. Find a book you like and click on it. Here, all the buying information is up top and the description is below.

A listing (Not one of mine)

As you can see here, I have divided the listing into 3 screen shots. In the first screen shot, you see a small pcture of the book. Directly under that little picture is the auction style. In this case, Buy Out only. Under that is the price. This book is only $0.88. Under the price is a currency converted. This site is open to the world. This seller happens to be in Turkey. I actually bout this book because I really miss starbucks frapps. The center of the first screen shot tells you the Quantity of books for sale, location, and when the listing started and when it will end. The far right gives you the seller sats. New dite, most seller don't have stats yet.

The center screen shot give you the product description and a larger picture. You learn that this is actually a collection of coffee recipe books. 8 in 1. Great deal for me.

The last screen shot is inportant. That blue box dead center, informs you that the item you are looking at is "attached". this means it is uploaded to the site and available for instant download once payment is sent, The seller accepts paypal payment. The second most important this is the messages to the left of center. Even though there are no fees, the designers took every precaution. When listing an item, the seller has the option of paying the fees themselves or passing the cost of fees onto the buyer.

Let me stress, there are no fees charged on this site. Its like a car airbags, it there, you know its there, and you hope to hell you never have to see it. The designers of this site want it to be free for all but if that isn't possible, they designed it into the web design. I have added a quote from the designers about their hopes, ideals, and views on fees below.

In this listing, the seller has agreed to pay for all fees and shipping costs. Again, no shipping costs with ebooks. Scroll back up to the top and click on the Buy Out link under the small picture.

Confirmation

You are directed to a page that gives you the basic, vital information. Title of the item. Price of the item. Shipping method. Payment method. And tells you who is suppose to pay the nonexistant fees. There is a button an the left side asking you to confirm your purchase. Afer confirming, a window pops up asking you if you want to complete the sale now or continue shopping. This is the shopping cart. I chose to pay it now. I was directed to a page that looks similar to ebay paypal login for purchases. I didn't take a picture of this, personal emails were visible. your paypal address is already filled in. Just type in your password and click ok.Paypal will ask you to confirm your payment again. Click ok and it will thank you for your purchase and give you some options. One is to continue to Paypal and view your account. Another is to direct you back to bidloadz.com. This is the option I chose. You are taken to the home page. Look down the menu options on the left side and see the heading Bidding. Click on the link that says Won items. Here you see a list of items you have purchased with name, price, seller, method of payment data visible. Under the data for each item purchased, to the slight right is a blox that says download media. Click on that and your purchase will download. Its that simple.

Why We Are FREE ?

This is a quote from the site designers.
We as Bidloadz team are really bored of paying fees to other websites so we created this website. We are paying all the expenses from our pocket, and we promise to try to keep this service free for ever. We only put ad-sense advertisements on the main pages to try to make some income. Other then this incame our main goal is to create a clean and fair platform for ourselves to sell our products also.
So enjoy bidloadz for free ....

I said earlier I made $150 on ebay in 1 month. But what I didn't say is that I paid ebay $55 in fees and Paypal about $20.
What is $55 worth? Half a tank of gas, a weeks worth the groceries, this months Cell Phone, new suit for a Job Interview, I don't have an XBox or other game system but if I did, I could have bought a new game. Finally, a site that isn't trying to take advantage of creative people trying to get ahead.

This is the Most Important Point and My Main Reason for Writing This Article

It doesn't matter how many books I post here if there isn't any traffic. My main goal and purpose here is to encourage all ebook writers, photographers, music writers, and anyone else to sell their items here. You have nothing to lose and the site is low maintaince like ebay. (Relisting, feedback, shipping labels) I set up my listings with Buy Out with 1000 quantity and the listing ends in a year. Purchases are immediately sent to paypal and customer downloads the item themselves. It cost NOTHING to join or sell.

Ther is no risk involved. Everyone on Squidoo has promoted their item for sale. If they listed their items here at no cost and no risk and then promoted that their items could be purchased at www.BIDLOADz.com, this site could become a sellers dream site. So I ask that all every lens on Squidoo that deals with:
How to create an ebook
How to sell ebooks
How to sell you Digital pictures
How to sell you articles
How to sell your music
How to sell your tatoo designs
How to create your own design
How to make Millions
How to market any of the above, add a link to my site here at squidoo or better yet, directly to www.Bidloadz.com

So Sign up. List your items. Look around. Make frequent vistis to see what new items are available. And most of all, Promote Your Item because promotion helps everyone not just yourself.

WWW.BIDLOADZ.COM is a safe, easy to use, and completely free place to start selling, marketing, and purchasing all your digitial downloadable item.

I'm not sure this page is for buyers or sellers - or both. You might want to clarify that.

I'm sorry to hear that you were copying other people's listings on eBay. Not a good practice to copy, not anywhere, and illegal in fact in many situations.

I agree with Torbjornar about proofreading. You definitely have some glaring spelling errors.

Sorry for the negatives. Feel free to keep this comment private. Since you asked me to look - multiple times - I thought you deserved an honest critique.

Seems like a great place for selling digital goods; a great tip. A nice lens you have here as well - very informative. Just a minor thing... you might want to do some proof reading. Best of luck with finding a job too! :-)
