Different Types of Resell Rights. What Do You Get? What You Can Do With Them?

A short primer on the types of resell rights available and some ideas on how they can be used to promote you, your business, and your site.

There are five different types of resell rights. Occasionally you will find slight variations or twist to them. But
generally rights can be broken down into these five types.

1. Basic resell rights.
This gives you the right to resell the product. Your customer does not have the right to then resell it. You keep 100% of the profits.

2. Master resell rights.
This confers the right to sell the product as well as sell basic resell rights to your customer. Your customer can purchase the item with basic resell rights, then sell the product and keep all of the proceeds for herself.

3. Private label rights.
This gives you full control over the product and its resell rights. You can make any changes you like. Including style and grammar. Don't like the chapter order, fix it. You can put your name on it and claim it as your own work. You can also then sell the basic and master resell rights to your customers. Your customers can purchase basic resell right and have the rights resell keeping all proceeds. Or purchase master resell rights from you and then be able to resell the product as wellas sell resell rights to their customers.

4. Give away rights.
With give away rights you can distribute the product for free, but you have cannot edit it or sell it. The people you give the product to have the right to further distribute the product for free

5. Royalty rights.
The only time I have come across royalty rights is with big ticket items. After you have purchased these rights, usually for a very hefty sum, you then have to pay a percentage of every sale to the original owner as well. This is similar to the way recording artist are paid for their music.
