Uses for a DIY Backdrop

A DIY backdrop is cheaper than renting pipe and drape from a rental company. This backdrop can be used at many different events for many different purposes. Get inspired with some of the ideas below and come up with some of your own.
  • 1Backdrops for Photobooth - It has become increasingly popular to have a photobooth area at your wedding reception or event. This allows guests to take home a remembrance of the evening. Since the backdrop is built in sections, you can create a great photobooth of your own -- avoiding the high rental fees of a traditional photobooth.
  • 2Behind the Cake Table (or dessert buffet or other special table) -- A cake is often times a center of attention at a wedding reception. Creating a backdrop for your cake will make it shine in your pictures!
  • 3Behind a Head Table - At a wedding reception or special event, a head table is often used. Let everyone know where your head table is and get wonderful pictures of the head table guests. An ugly background in pictures can actually interfere with the composition and the final result in a photo. This backdrop is customizable so it will blend in, allowing your guests to stand out or be a focus if that is what you want.
  • 4Creating a Vignette -- Do you have an area that needs to be covered like an electrical panel, a door or column. This DIY backdrop is perfect for masking unattractive architecture or venue decor. Use one section and then create a vignette out of decor items that match your theme.
