Welcome to my world of clay!
This lens is here to showcase my polymer clay artwork and also teach a few tips and tricks for working in polymer clay.
I've included links to excellent books, a few other artists work on eBay, and some polymer clay kits that you can order to try this awesome crafting medium for yourself.
ANYBODY can create beautiful things in polymers. I'm living proof!

Miniature pink room
This tiny room is approximately two inches wide by one and a half inches tall. It was created in a tiny cardboard box from the craft store, which I painted white, and then added all of the detail using polymer clay. The curtains are attached to a toothpick that I cut to size, then covered with Premo.
It sold for $22 on eBay.
I assembled the entire room in the box, then baked it.

A must-have for any polymer clay miniaturist, this book is out of print, but you can find many used copies in very good condition at Amazon.

Polymer Tip!
Remember, do NOT mix different brands or types of clay in a project. Each clay has its own baking needs and mixing them will end up with an unsatisfactory result.
This includes combining different types of clay from one maker, such as Sculpey, Sculpey III, and Premo.

Fun stuff. Being a sculptor, I love clay, but I've never tried polymer. Looks like you know your stuff and I'll have to check it out. Thanks for your kind comments on my lens Lions, Fu Dogs and Bears (Oh My!). Posted February 09, 2008 |
