• I was quite surprised... I wanted to occasionally listen to CDs outside or in the shower without having to worry about water damage. Couldn't find a CD player that I liked, so I bought this and stuck an old iPod Shuffle in it. Very excellent sound for what it is; I've bought mini 'speakers' before and they are nothing like this. This little box produces a solid sound that allows you to actually enjoy your music.
  


• I purchased this speaker a while back (from a different source) and have gotten even more use out of it than I expected I would. It's great for the beach, pool, gardening, I even listen to it around the house, and have used it with some of my massage clients. Great sound for its size.


• I didn't expect it to be this big - I should have paid more attention to the product description before I bought it. If you don't know how big this thing is, take a careful look at the description. The photos don't show the scale really well, this thing is huge and heavy. I would only take this with me if it was mounted on a vehicle of some sort, such as a canoe, an ATV, or take it camping/fishing. It's just too large and heavy to be part of a gear collection for hiking, on-foot-only camping or some other weight conscious activity.
