Is Ecohacking solution for Global Warming

There are roughly 385 parts per million i.e.ppm of carbon in the atmosphere today, which is making the scientist world over very unnerving and already concerned about Global warming.

Theories and options

Alan Robock the professor at the Rutgers University at the department of environment is of the opinion that our goal should be not to overboard of 450 ppm of carbon.

The other scientists in this respective field consider that this could be the tipping point when things could go out of control.

The solution he propagates is lessening and the need of the hour is rushing madly.

Paul Crutzen is concerned that the work done is very slow and we should be swifter. He became one of the most famous geoengineering advocates for his idea of copying the Pinatubo volcano. In 1991 the eruption of the volcano sent 10m tones of sulphur into the atmosphere, reducing the global warming by 0.5c,the next year he suggested to put 1.9m tones of sulphur to send into the atmosphere using the ballons to have the same effect for cooling the earth.

He wasn't the first one to advocate as this dates back to 1965 when the first report about Global warming was given to U.S. president that there might be problems with the carbon particles in the atmosphere relating to the heat generation.

In early '70 the Russian scientist Mikhail Budyko came up with the idea to put aerosols in the atmosphere.

President Johnson's advisory committee came up with the idea to put reflective materials across the ocean so that they can reflect large amount of sunlight back into the atmosphere and lessen the effect of global warming.

Harry Wexler had predicted ecohacking in 1962 and by that time the first weather satellite was already in the orbit for last 3 years. He pointed out that any intervention with earth's heat budget could cause a change in the downstream flow and the climatic system and weather patterns.

Its 1991 eruption sent 10m tonnes of sulphur (which became sulphur dioxide) into the atmosphere, reducing the global temperature by 0.5C the next year. Crutzen suggested a project to produce a similar effect, using balloons or artillery shells to put 1.9m tonnes of sulphur into the atmosphere to cool the Earth.

There are plans to seed the ocean with iron particles as this will increase the development of phytoplankton. There are others who have set their eyes on the stars; they wish to place tiny light reflector mesh to be placed between the earth and the sun as it would deflect the rays of the sun away from the planet.

These projects involve huge cost and are beyond the time required is tremendous.

Hence the most practical way is to plant a tree by each and every individual every year on his birthday all across the globe.

This should be made a mandatory task by governments all over of each and every country and there should be severe penalties those shirk to do their national duty every year.
