Why The Econique Hemp Case is the Best Kindle Cover

It may sound shallow, but when it comes to accessorizing your Kindle, looks matter. Fortunately, Eco-Nique cases are stylish but also a little bit different. Made of hemp (yes, it comes from plants!) they have a more natural look.

An Econique cover to me looks down-to-earth, practical, with a touch of hand-crafted charm. It's the sort of Kindle case that would look right at home in a cozy coffee shop where writers hang out. Not too pretentious or trying too hard, the Econique range of covers instead have the look of an old-fashioned journal.

The cover has a sort of scroll design in dark thread, which adds to its vintage-style elegance.

The Econique cases come in an attractive range of natural shades. As you can see, my own Eco-Nique Kindle cover is a lovely coffee color with chocolate brown on the soft synthetic leather interior. Amazon describe it simply as brown, which doesn't quite do justice to the gorgeous chestnut shades of the hemp cover. However, according to Tuff-Luv who make the Econique range, it is the rather more tasty Mocha Brown.

Other choices include Desert Sand and Pistachio Green. Both are beautiful. Tuff-Luv also have a Turquoise Blue Hemp Kindle case for Kindle 4.

Pay Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk a visit and you will seen a whole number of rave reviews from happy Econique Kindle Case buyers.

However, this is a personal review so let me tell you why I fell for this case the moment I opened it.

• It has a soft, padded cover. No hard bits to hurt your hands, and it just feels comfy and natural. It won't make your hands sweat during reading marathons either.


• It holds your Kindle nice and snug. You can relax and be 100% sure it will stay in place with the unobtrusive fastenings.


• It is flexible. Yes, I discovered with the Econique Kindle case how great it is to be able to fold the front cover flap back behind the Kindle for an even more comfortable hold. This for me was a big improvement on the Amazon leather case I owned before.


• It is light. The leather cases can be quite heavy. Add a book light and your Kindle will soon weigh you down. Say goodbye to that extra weight with the barely-there feel of the Tuff-Luv hemp case.


• Handy pockets. I'm not a leather snob and I like the soft synthetic material used for the inside of this Eco-Nique case. It has pockets to keep important stuff and even a loved one's photo too. Enough said.


• It is animal-friendly. Not important for everyone, but for vegans or those of us who just would rather not buy leather when there are good alternatives, this eco-friendly case will let you make a purchase that doesn't conflict with your values.

When you unpack your Eco-Nique / Tuff-Luv Hemp cover, you will find (most likely) that it arrives with a card insert where your Kindle will live. A nice touch, this says "Welcome Back to Your Book!" in the middle of the screen. And that truly is the perfect description of the range of Econique hemp cases for your Kindle.

Slip the card out, slip your Kindle in and fasten at the top, and you are ready to read. It's as simple as that.
