EcoQuest International is the maker of the very best selling air purification systems and healthy living technology systems in the world today. They make about 10 or so air purifiers that will purify the air in your entire home or office up to a large area of 3,000 sq ft, in a small sized apartment, in a condo, in a single room and even in your car. They are even great for restaurants and bars or any indoor place where lots of people gather and the air gets skanky and dirty.
EcoQuest also makes water purification systems and their most widely known water purifier is the Living Water II. They also make a sun lamp known as the Living Sunshine that gives you bright full spectrum light when you are unable to go outside or the outdoors is overcast during those long cold winter months.
Their top of the line residential home air purification system known as the Fresh Air by EcoQuest will clean the air in a large home up to 3,000 square feet and leave your home smelling nice and fresh just like after a thunderstorm. This air purification unit uses the most advanced air cleaning technology available today known as ActivePure Radiant Catalytic Ionization, or RCI, that produces an advanced oxidation process that cleans all the dust and bad stuff out of your air. EcoQuest newest Fresh Air purifiers use a technology called ActivePure Radiant Catalyitic Ionization or RCI for short to clean the snot out of your air. It is the same technology used to scrub the air clean in the NASA Space Shuttle. The suggested retail price of the Fresh Air purifier from EcoQuest International is $749. Sometimes you can get one for a bit less from your EcoQuest Dealer.
ActivePure Technology Has Been Proven In Several University Studies and at Kansas State University in particular.
ActivePure technology sends little active scrubbers out of the Fresh Air purifier, ecobox, and other EcoQuest technology. They act like little pacmen who safely destroy mold and germs on the surfaces in your living environment.
This unit comes standard with a remote control and a digital readout on the front of the machine that tells you exactly how your air purifier from EcoQuest is operating and when you need to perform regular maintenance, which by the way is very easy and only needs to be done once a month.
The next model down is the Breeze AT that is a very popular unit because of it's mid range price. This air purifier from EcoQuest cleans the air in a home up to 2,500 square feet and costs about $200 less than the Fresh Air by EcoQuest.
And then there is the Living Air Classic that has been the mainstay of the company for more than 15 years, This unit has been pretty much phased out by EcoQuest but you can still get one from a few dealers at a farily good price.
EcoQuest also has a new air purifier that is perfect for apartments or small homes. The ecobox purifies the air in your home up to 1,500 square feet and costs only $349, much less than the $749 cost of the Fresh Air.
All in all, EcoQuest International air purifiers are wonderful clean air machines and do a superb job of giving you clean air where you need it most.

EcoQuest Responds To Consumer Reports Evaluation
Official EcoQuest International Response Below
It should first be noted that Consumer Reports did not speak to EcoQuest for comment, or to confirm the context or accuracy of their conclusions. Had they done so, they would have gained an understanding of our multiple technology strategies like ionization, the use and purpose of ozone and the "Away Mode," and ActivePure (RCI) technology.
Independent University testing conducted over many years proved our ActivePure strategies vastly improved the indoor environment.
ActivePure (RCI) technology for killing germs, mold, and microbiologicals:
In peer-reviewed, published Kansas State University studies, our ActivePure (RCI) process reduced up to 99.9 % of bacteria, viruses, molds, and yeast on surfaces.
ActivePure Ionization technology for smoke and particulate removal:
In studies at the University of Cincinnati, ActivePure ionization technology demonstrated an ability to drop particles from the air, out of the breathing space, as much as 100 times faster than natural gravity.
We cannot comment on the results of the Consumer Reports testing. We do not know the size of their test chamber, or their testing procedures. We do not know if the appropriate settings were used, or the size and condition of the environment. We do know we were tested against a paper filter, which is not an accurate comparison of technologies.
Ozone at trace, safe, natural levels for reducing odors:
The Consumer Reports article did focus disproportionately on ozone with regard to EcoQuest's technology. While ozone is in use, it is a small part of our overall strategy. The purpose of ozone is for natural odor removal. The effectiveness of ozone for this purpose is well documented, and has been validated in Federal court. In some operational modes, safe, natural levels of ozone are created by our technology for this purpose. This strategy is designed to operate in a real world environment. Our "Away Mode," designed to raise ozone levels higher when no one is present, provides even greater odor reduction. Ozone at less than 50 ppb is considered safe and normal the world over. Fresh, natural outdoor levels generally fall within that range.
ActivePure (RCI) and "Certified Space Technology":
Our ActivePure (RCI) technology is "Certified Space" technology based on research conducted by NASA. Their research focused on prolonging the life of plants in space by scrubbing the air of environmental contaminants using photo catalytic ionization - the application of UV light to Titanium Dioxide, which is the process we developed and advanced upon.
We received our "Certified Space Technology" certification from the NASA-affiliated Space Foundation. This is the same certification granted to Silhouette eyewear and the Tempurpedic mattresses.
To quote Kevin Cook from the Space Foundation:
"The Space Foundation, in cooperation with our friends at NASA, conducts the Space Certification to promote the extraordinary products and services that bring the benefits of space technology home to Earth, and improve the quality of our lives" said Cook. "By successfully applying space-based technology to improve our lives on Earth, EcoQuest has joined an exclusive group of certified companies."
We are proud of the distinction. EcoQuest has never claimed our products are in use on the International Space Station or on shuttle missions.
Responding to Consumer Reports
We trust that the misleading information in the article was a mistake. We believe that after reviewing our peer-reviewed, published papers, as well as a more thorough researching and understanding of our multiple strategies and "Certified Space Technology" certification, they will clarify the content of their article. We will work with Consumer Reports to have a correction made to the information as it was stated in the article.
About the science of ActivePure technology:
We have serious reservations relating to the ability of "any organization" to competently test and substantiate the science or effectiveness of a product within the proper scope of "industry standards", even when they objectively strive to deliver good unbiased results, as Consumer Reports Magazine has always held as their standard. This is why we have invested millions of dollars, spent years of testing and commissioned the most reliable, competent Universities to conduct the testing of our products and the claims that we make. Peer- reviewed documentation and double-blind studies are the only "scientifically substantiated" documentation accepted "world-wide."

"For the past several years, researchers at Kansas State University have evaluated the technologies utilized by EcoQuest. In all cases, the units have virtually eliminated harmful bacteria, molds and viruses from environmental surfaces. Our findings will be published in the December 2007 issue of the Journal of Rapid Methods and Automation in Microbiology. The technologies utilized by EcoQuest are not comparable to filtration technologies or plain UV lamps."
Dr. Sergey Grinsphun
Professor - Environmental Health
University of Cincinnati
Note: Dr. Grinshpun is an internationally-recognized scientist who has authored around 430 scientific publications, including over 140 original articles in peer-reviewed journals.
"I have tested air filtration and air purification technologies for many years, including - recently - the EcoQuest's Fresh Air technology. The results of the laboratory study conducted by the University of Cincinnati team were summarized in a paper published in Environmental Science and Technology, the most respected journal in the field.
As a part of a peer-reviewed process, I had to answer many pages of questions before it was accepted for publication. Of course, I stand by the study's findings and am convinced that this technology allows for significantly reducing the concentration of aerosol contaminants in indoor air."
Mike Jackson
President and CEO - EcoQuest International
"As the President and CEO of EcoQuest, one of my biggest desires is to provide products that improve the quality of life and home environments. Fresh Air with ActivePure accomplishes this goal. I use and enjoy Fresh Air throughout my home and office and am 100% sure the units work better than paper filters for combating smoke, and germs, mold and other contaminants. When people try our products with a risk-free trial, they buy them because they work."
Allen Johnston
Chief Technology Officer -EcoQuest International
"EcoQuest has spent millions of dollars and countless man hours developing and testing ActivePure technology. ActivePure technology is an active technology. That is to say it works actively in the environment. Contrast that against paper filters, which are passive technology. Paper filters work great in areas within a few feet of the machine, but only impact the air that passes through the machine.
The testing conducted by Consumers Reports did not address the air or surfaces across the room or a few rooms away.
Further, the results of testing ozone levels and ActivePure technology in an empty room will be out of context. If our Fresh Air by EcoQuest is used on normal mode in a room with furniture, people, animals, etc., the ozone levels will register well below normal, safe, outdoor fresh air.
Fresh Air is not a paper filter and must be tested differently. I will be happy to supply Consumer's Union with a methodology to do so if requested, as our products have been tested repeatedly in independent, published studies."
Dr. Allan Somersall
Physician and Author
"I have installed two DuctwoRx units, one Fresh Air and one ecobox in my home. As a doctor, father and grandfather, I am convinced the science and effectiveness of these units makes my home healthier and safer."
Kevin Cook
Director of Space Technology Awareness - The Space Foundation
"The Space Foundation, in cooperation with NASA, established the Space Certification Program to recognize innovators who transform technology originally developed for space use into commercial products. EcoQuest has been awarded use of the Certified Space Technology seal because they have effectively applied space based technology to address the real and growing concern of indoor pollution, and improved the quality of life for people here on Earth."
We cannot be put in a box!
Fresh Air with ActivePure is not a conventional paper filter.
Just as Consumer Reports recognized this fact, and separated our "Certified Space" technology as different in their article. We are different!
When Consumer Reports put a Fresh Air in a bare room and tested for ozone build-up we could have saved them the trouble. Of course you will have ozone build up because there is nothing for the ActivePure technology to interact with and clean.
We agree that high ozone levels are not good. On the normal setting, in a normal home, Fresh Air will generate much less ozone than internationally accepted standards for fresh outdoor air. It is a fact that a small amount of ozone is actually needed outdoors to help oxidize pollution. Trace levels are a natural component of fresh air.
It should be noted that Consumer Reports stated that they tested our system for germ killing ability, and Fresh Air did in fact kill the germs and bacteria in the ai
EcoQuest To Respond To Consumer Reports Magazine
#1. Consumer Reports did not speak to EcoQuest for comment to confirm the context or accuracy of their conclusions, or to gain an understanding of EcoQuest's different technologies like the "Away Mode" versus ActivePure RCI.
#2. Their products use "Certified Space" technology based on research and development conducted by NASA. Their research focused on prolonging the life of plants in space by scrubbing the air of environmental contaminants. EcoQuest received their "Certified Space Technology" certification from the NASA-affiliated Space Foundation. This is the same certification granted to Silhouette eyewear and the Tempurpedic mattress for their use of technology developed for space, but used on Earth in everyday life. They are proud of the distinction. EcoQuest does not claim their products are in use on the International Space Station or on Shuttle missions.
#3. It is EcoQuest International's understanding that the International Space Station uses photocatalytic ionization, the basis for their ActivePure RCI technology, to scrub the air. This is not ozone. In fact, their ActivePure process reduces ozone levels. It appears the magazine may have mixed up their understanding of the application of EcoQuest's different technologies and processes.
#4. EcoQuest does not know the size of Consumer Reports test chamber or their testing procedures. They do not know if the appropriate settings were used for the size of the environment. They did mention the away mode, which does imply that the settings were tested in an enclosed environment that does not accurately reflect real world use.
EcoQuest will be responding with accurate information regarding the statements in the article relevant to their technology, and will continue to point to their peer-reviewed, published studies, as well as their relationships with prestigious organizations like Kansas State University and the Space Foundation, as evidence of their ability to significantly impact indoor environments for the better.

EcoQuest International Business Testimonies
Sales Manger Rob Burger, his wife, Joni, and his sons Derek and Gordy live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, 45 minutes from the nearest traffic light in a remote tourist area. Rob owns his own business, giving him time to fish with his sons and enjoy the outdoors, a passion of his. He drives a 2007 Toyota Sequoia. He expects to be totally debt-free in three years. But most importantly, he has found a rich and vital spiritual life.
It hasn't always been this good.
Rob worked construction and, like many, lived paycheck to paycheck. He was also battling alcohol addiction. Then he was laid off for the winter. In his words, "it was a pretty tight situation.
"EcoQuest saved my life,"
"EcoQuest saved my life," he says. "Had I not found the business and God when I did, I would have lost more than my income. It saved my marriage, saved my life, and brought me around to help others."
Rob's father was also an EcoQuest Sales Manager. In 2001, his father spent a lot of time trying to recruit him. Rob wasn't interested. It wasn't his time. It wasn't until his father died in September 2004 that Rob paid attention.
"When we went to clean out his home, he had inventory and information," Rob says. "I kept looking at it and looking at it. I finally decided to go for it. He made Sales Manager-whatever he was doing, he did it right."
Rob was also faced with growing medical problems. The construction work and past injuries had taken a heavy toll on his body. He needed bilateral hip replacements, had herniated disks, and had degenerative bone issues in his hip and back-and he hadn't even turned 40.
"I weighed all my options, and they didn't look good. I could get loans to go to school, and later get a job that would require me to move to a new job in a more populated area. I didn't want to do that. My options were unattractive in many ways."
Rob listened to the cassette collection his father had given him-among those were talks given by Greg Montoya. "I kept listening to those cassettes over and over and said, 'why not me and why not now?'
"Because I realized my options were so limited, I went after it with a fervor," Rob says. "I told my wife there would be more frozen pizzas for awhile."
Rob sold 14 retail machines in his second month and five Success Packs from his first batch of leads. But what he found most challenging and most gratifying was the personal development he encountered.
People skills? "I had zilch," he says. "I might have been in the negative column. I didn't have a lot going for me before I went in the business. A lot of people just tolerated me for a time. When I made the decision to start my own company, I turned off the TV and the radio. I took in training. I didn't try to fit my business into my life-I made it my life. That's the only way it was going to work for me."
At EcoQuest, Rob found people "who cared enough about me to not sugar coat things and told me in what areas I needed to work personally."
Now Rob finds that his "why" has changed from those early days. He finds it extremely gratifying to help others. From helping people get healthier to helping people put their financial lives back together, Rob reaps the rewards of his EcoQuest business every day.
"EcoQuest provides a way for a person like myself without degrees and marketing experience to succeed," he says. "Anybody can do it if they just follow the system. I have always liked helping people. This way I can help those who really want to work. I work hard. I don't expect anybody to work any harder than I do. We get out of this business what we put into it."
Rob works primarily on the Internet. He also works retail with his local market. "I use the indirect approach," he says. "I like to find people who have challenges. I also do a lot of customer service, so I get a lot of word of mouth business."
Rob facilitates weekly telephone calls for his team and recruits, as well as holds various training calls. All this work on top of his superb teamwork has earned him a spot in the top 45 of international sales, reserving his place on the November Galapagos Islands trip.
His straight-shooting advice to others: "Don't wait to start working on yourself. The system works. Everything is in place. The company wants you to succeed. The only thing standing between you and making it is the real estate between your ears.
"If I left this business today for whatever reason, I would be a lot better person from having had the chance to know the people in EcoQuest-from Mike Jackson to the person I call tomorrow."

ActivePure uses ultraviolet light and a technology that produces hydroxyls (water and oxygen particles) and put them into the air to scrub it clean.
Another technology used in the Fresh Air purifier is called SynAirG and it is an ionization and oxygenation process that gives you the same fresh clean air you get after a thunderstorm. Check out TryFreshAir.com for more info.
EcoQuest Updates
If you are in the market for a small room air purifier then the Fresh Air Spectrum by EcoQuest International might just be the air purification system for you. And now, until they are gone, EcoQuest is offering their dealers these units for $100 off their regular price.
The retail price hasn't changed, but now that you know they are being discounted to EcoQuest dealers, you can ask them to pass the savings on to you.
EcoQuest ActivePure Kills MRSA Staph
In University testing, EcoQuest International's ActivePure technology inactivated up to 99.99% of MRSA Staph (antibiotic-resistant bacteria) in 24 hours - with 97% neutralized in the first 2 hours alone.
There has been a lot in the news recently about MRSA Staph. That is the antibiotic-resistant strain of Staph that hospitals have had a big problem with, and now quite a few schools, law enforcement facilities, and other places where people are crowded together are seeing infections on the rise. They are calling it a "super-bug" because it doesn't respond to antibiotics.
Here are some different stories:
Schools in Detroit
Schools in Chicago
Schools in Pennsylvania
Schools in Massachusetts
Hospitals
Hospitals and Nursing Homes
The amount of stories is incredible...
ActivePure killed up to 99.99% of MRSA in the KSU studies, with about 97% of that killed in just 2 hours - that's huge! EcoQuest is not not saying ActivePure treats or prevents infection, but it stands to reason that their air purifiers can certainly reduce the risk of exposure.
